Well I don't like milk anymore but still, giving up meat would be really, really hard.

No, never.

I eat vegetarian around 50% of the time anyway, but I love meat and dairy too much to ever give up. A life without cheese - it is a life worth living?

I've considered it but after trying tofu jerky, I'll stick with the way I am. *shudders* that stuff was NASTY. We had to order a whole crate-full of fresh homemade beef jerky from the creepy guy on the street corner to cleanse our taste buds.

Um... maybe if someone else did all the shopping? I'm pretty adaptable. I wouldn't have the energy to read all the freakin' labels and think about it all the time though. I'm pretty much certain that there are decent non-animalistic substitutes for most animal products though. So yes, if someone else could constantly advice me I would at least try it.

Pure Vegans should consider living in Asia, this continent has the best Vegan food in the world.

I live in Asia, but I'm not converting to full-time pure Vegan anytime soon.
Hmm maybe that's true in Thailand. But a friend of mine who is a vegetarian went to Japan and she had a really hard time finding food that didn't have meat in it.

I could never become a vegan. Partly because I'm too damn fond of steak but mainly because we've evolved over millions of years to be omnivores. Depriving my body of nutrients that nature has decreed I need to stay healthy seems like a very bad idea - I remember years and years ago my sister went through a vegetarian phase and the number of suppliments she had to buy from health shops was staggering.

Yes. No. Obviously they are different things. But if the rationale is not to kill living things, that's problematic, because they are alive. They're a part of of the ecosystem and ingesting large quantities of grain is killing those grains. And in eating grains, what are you saying? Well, grains are lesser beings in the world of living things, so because they don't talk or moo, it's totally okay to terminate their lives. All veganism is doing is scaling back the bar of what you consider "lesser creatures". Those who eat meat are okay with the fact that we're slaughtering several species that are less intelligent than us. Vegans set the bar lower to "less intelligent and less interactive than typical animals". There's nothing different about it. Vegans, go big or go home. Clearly you need to go "breatharian" if you want to cause no harm to living things.

...Okay, I'm gonna openly admit that half of that was satire but the point is made.

No. I don't empathize much with humans or animals and the only case I can see for being one is being overly empathetic towards animals. I guess if I were ill and I need to change my diet for health benefits.

I do like a lot of Organic and Vegan foods though. I just also love steak.

I would never, ever, ever become a vegan.

I am a Human, and therefore I am an Omnivore. I am sure there are people out there living happily as vegans/vegetarians, but that's not me.

I have nothing against Vegans/Vegetarians, but I just don't find it natural/healthy for me. It always strikes me dumbfound when I catch a Vegan/Vegetarian giving me guff about eating something, while they're smacking their lips on a "veggie" burger or some other processed abomination.

My view on food is to try and eat food that has as little processing done to it, before I get a hold of it, as possible...not to mention how much cheaper it is to buy unprocessed food.

I thought it odd that you use the word become. I thought it was some sort of distorted (i'm sorry, i do really feel that it's abnormal but i don't mean to say that it's worse than my morals) moral view that doesn't let you eat meat without feeling guilty. It's like you're a vegan if you have a certain set of morals, which we don't really chose, at least not in the same way i might chose to go on a diet, or whether to get cereal or pancakes for breakfast.

In any case i really don't know exactly what it means to be a vegan but i have a general idea. And no i doubt i'll ever be a vegan. Being human is undeniably part of who I am. Humans are physically adapted to be able to eat both plant and animal products. I don't see how i could deny that part of me without restructuring my entire view of who i am, and i'm frankly quite content with who i am. In any case i don't see it as a moral issue. We're not plants, we can't make our own food. We have to take it from something else. I just don't see the difference between taking it from a plant or an animal. Maybe it's the cold scientist in me but i don't see why an animal life is more important than a plant's life. They are both alive after all, and to continue stating the obvious, they're dead after you kill them and they both feed you and had to die so you could live. (Actually, depending on the plant and some animals, you could eat a part of them without killing them, like fruit and such, but that's not my point.)

Meat is delicious. Meat is tasty. Meat makes my world go round.

I will NEVER go vegan. if a Doctor told me I'd die if I ate one more strip of bacon, I'd go to the grave with grease on my chin and a smile on my face.
I'm afraid I share this view.

However, if it gave me super psychic powers like in Scott Pilgrim, I might concider it >.>

On the other hand, there are a LOT of brands of products that deal with vegetarianism. I used to eat a lot of different Quorn products. They're made of mushroom protiens. Ironically, I'm allergic to mushrooms but those sort of foods never affected me. They were good and I'd quite easily go back to eating such things if the need arose (eg, if I ever got into a relationship where the other person was vegetarian... I don't mind compromise :3)

Personally i feel privileged to be in a society that gives me the option to live whatever lifestyle i want, and although i now personally believe that humans may reach a point where everyone has these options and perhaps should reduce or fully stop meat consumption, not only for overall health but also for the sake of overall ethics.
ethics? whats unethical about eating something that's tasty? as long as i like it and it isn't poisonous, i'd consume it. if it's really unhealthy i'll at less of it, but still eat it.

why would you want to be vegan? If you buy good meat(i mean free range stuff)there is nothing wrong with being an omnivore.
besides we evolved that way, we have sharp teeth, eg inscissors and canines which are ment to chew and grip meat.

i feel veganism is silly as we have evolved to be omnivores

This post is so ridiculous I can hardly take it. Grain isn't conscious, for one thing.

You realise there is a difference between plants and animals, yes?

of course he does. he's simply saying that a plant is part of an eco system like a sheep is part of a food chain, vegans are happily killing off parts of eco systems, also micro organisms may not be as sentient as us, but they function in an eco system and are alive, as are plants. Just because you can't think doesn't mean you are not alive.

You realise there is a difference between plants and animals, yes?
