NEVER! I love my TV. I'd say 50% of my time spent with electronics is with the TV and the other 50% can be divided up between my computer and consoles.

Absolutely not. I love console gaming too much. 47" LCD = beauty.
But he plays his consoles on a monitor.

I say, sell it to the highest bidder.

[sub]I gotta go get me a HD monitor.[/sub]

My monitor is a higher resolution than all your TVs! :p

Resolution is more important than screen size to me.

I now have TV for the first time in about 3 years. I always regret turning it on. :/
I'd much rather waste my time on interactive video games than sit and have a story told to me. The exception is that I sometimes watch movies (DVDs) on my computer. I usually find them to be much more engaging than most TV shows.

So yeah, cancel that cable.

Yes I would, and I did. My TV started crapping out, and I figured all I do is play games on it anyways, so I bought a sweet monitor. Now I can play games in HDMI, and use it as a dual screen when I'm working on 3D projects. Win-win.

TV today is garbage.

TV has already been gone, same with cable, for three years now. Best decision I ever made. Completely worthless.

Same here. I agree. You don't need a huge TV.

Your tv is just a monitor. You mean to ask whether you should get rid of your cable service. You should. Any tv program you want to watch can be watched online, or downloaded. I haven't watched scheduled, broadcast tv in a long, long time. It's redundant.

As for your TV, you should also get rid of that. Get a projector. For a lot less money than a 42" tv, you can get 100+ inches in as good quality. I've been using a projector for years now; hooked up to my pc and 360. The quality is excellent, even with the lights on. And it only cost me 500 pounds. The experience is well worth it. Especially when friends are round.

I never had TV service, never wanted it, but I don't think I'd ever give up my television. I use my TV as a monitor a lot of the time, especially when I'm gaming. I'd rather have that capability. But seriously, I don't need a service because the only TV shows I watch are Bleach and South Park, which I can get free over the web, with much less advertising. And I can watch them full screen on my monitor that's a TV ^_^

I would, but I doubt my mom would give up her news or the Daily show and Colbert Report. I don't watch tv too much anyways. It's kinda boring.

Both are important. One, without the other is meaningless. A 5 inch screen at an insanely high res is going to be pretty difficult to play games on. Same goes for a 200 inch screen at a really low res. A combination of good res, and size is important.

I wouldn't give up my T.V, but I would get a newer, bigger TV and hook up my computer, 360, wii, and all knick knacks to that and just give up cable.
(actually my dad's getting a new TV tomorrow and I'm going to take his older, slightly smaller one [for I do not have one in my room of beds])
Get a projector. Sooo much better.

It's nice playing on a TV, because 1) it's a bigger screen, and 2) no graphics card necessary. God, my computer is crap. It lags on Portal, even. I have to pull down the visual settings for every game I play a ton to ensure it doesn't crash on me. Also, I like watching some shows (not many, though). I think I could cancel my FiOS subscription and liv, though. The shows I do watch are all online anyway. I'd just use the TV for gaming.
What are you talking about? Your tv is just a big monitor. Functionally, it's no different to the one attached to your pc. A graphics card is still necessary to play games on it.

Well, yeah, but I don't need to update it every year. Plus, my TV has HD. My shitty laptop does not.

I wouldn't. I need my TV for sports, and I like to watch some TV shows.

Plus, my TV is bigger than the monitor. I like it better.
This is my exact opinion. However if I could connect my pc to my TV and get a wire-less keyboard and mouse in there.... hmm time for some research.
