That out of the way, I'm not sure. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I doubt there would be a riot near me.

And if I was in a city when one broke out I might do some quick looting but nothing beyond that.

I've been involved in a few riots in my time, mainly as a photographer.
Was involved in some major scuffles during the G20 protests in London last year, great fun, scary, but fun.
Would I actually do anything? Not a chance, I just love "being there"

Most likely no, looking at people riot makes me sick. Especially those idiotic anarchist at every G8/G20 meeting. "Hey let's protest big government/corporations by breaking windows at small businesses and turning over that car that's owned by some middle class bastard!"....yeah that makes perfect sense.

I wouldn't do anything unless I was sure I was supporting the right cause, and I'm usually not sure.

Depends where it is and how violent it is. If there's full on building vandalism and large gang beatings of people, probably not. If it's less hardcore than that, and it was in my town's high street, probably yeah. If it was on my street, I'd wonder why they were so far away from the main public, and point them in the direction of the High Street.

I think that even if I did agree with the rioters in any way, shape, manner, or form... the results wouldn't do anything other than damage my community.

Depends. Any and all riots created by sports, well, no tears for any broken bones. Something more along the lines of civil rights stuff in the 50's, 60's and 70's however, yay rioters.
I agree. I despise riotous sports fans. Heck, I can barely tolerate the non-riotous ones. How would they feel if we all tore the city up over Square's response to Chrono Resurrection?

Probably I would just stand back and look, since I'm so lazy I can't be bothered to participate.

No, I wouldn't get involved. What ever cause the people who are rioting because of, you couldn't be sure that the other people are rioting for the same reason. Most likely they'd get swept up in the mob mentality which leads to senseless violence and vandalism.

I've seen video footage of rioters where they gang up to destroy someone's car or attack a single individual. It's the ultimate act of cowardice.

And what does rioting achieve? It is never broadcast in a favourable light for the rioters (feel free to show me otherwise, can't say my rioting knowledge is extensive)and surely only turns public opinion against their cause, if there was one to begin with.
