Probably help the police.
To everyone saying this; what do you think they're going to do? Give you a gun?
Why not, this is theoretical after all.
As long as the rioters dont have a weapons I will charge in with my riotshield!!!

A) No I could get hurt, besides if I want to do something funny but stupid, DRINK!!
B) No course the police would most likely misunderstand and arrest me.
C) You mean like on a bar with them throwing big chucks of stone and few Molotovs at random? No
D) I couldn't be emotionless at such a point since most likely I would think "what a bunch of twits".

E) Do what any sensible person would do and get away from the fight. YES!

I would stay home and protect my belongings from any roaming looters in the area. No one, and I mean no one, is touching my stuff.

It depends on what the riot is about. If it's for a cause I think the mayhem is worth fighting for I'd leap in, otherwise I'd just stand by and drink in the chaos.

*Ahem*

EDIT2: Thanks for the help, DonnyP.

I guess it would really depend on what kind of riot we're talking about. But more than likely I'd just find a place to watch, and maybe film it.
Damn ninja. OT: it depends what the riot was for but either way I wouldn't help the police because things would get mixed up and I wold probably get attacked by them. Besides, what do you think they'll do if you offer to help? Do you think they have time to talk to you so they understand that you're helping?

As I love seeing the police bash some rioters during a pointless riot I would just sit back and enjoy the show! Riots only takes away things from you, it never adds anything in my opinion. Violence is never the true way.
Seeing rioters get what they deserve makes my day everytime!

Let's see...am I properly equipped to deal with such a situation (in a way that the police would recognize that I'm on their side)? If so, help out. If not, then I'd get my family and myself out of there as quickly as possible.

To quote Sgt. Resnov, "Use your molotovs, let them burn in their posts!"
It depends on the topic of discussion, but the way things are going, I'd fire-bomb the protestors.
wouldn't the protestors fire bomb the police or am I being stereotypical to protestors

A) or C). Depends on if I believe in the cause.
My thoughts exactly. If it was for something I believed in I might jump in - but if it was just a bunch of morons celebrating a sports team win or something, definitely sit back and watch the cops deal with it.

Join the riot! It'll be a "riot lauff"!

I'm in the UK though, just walking home past a riot tends to get you murdered by the police...
