Would I make a good soldier?... No is the honest answer.

I'd make a better officer or somebody in intelligence, processing information.

Basically, I'm to bright to be cannon fodder.

i have good instinct and im mentally strong, but i dont feel comfortable putting my life into other peoples hands, and vice-versa.

i would probably be best as a sniper or gunner in an aircraft.

on the front lines, i probably wouldnt be too good at it

I'm a people person. I gotz me sum high speech level in Fallout, that is.

I guess I would probably make peace between the two groups of people. Do good soldiers do that?

TO be fair I haven't read past about half way on the first page, but here's my 2 cents,

As an answer, I think I waould make a good soldier, but not because of online or even single player video games.

I had something else typed out but I have decided against it. Instead I'll say that if people acted like they did online in a real armed force, the world would be back to using sticks and stones to catch, kill, cook and eat our dinner...

I'll let you know if I get drafted into a combat unit.

Probably not, see as how I hate shooting guns and being ordered around doesn't suit me very well.

Suck at shooting, good at taking commands and charge if need be.
Maybe, but I still don't like getting shot at.
Could I at least get to fly a plane?

I'd be quite a good, team leader. Telling people where to attack, or when to hold back and wait for the reinforcements (spawning of course). Also I tend to sacrifice myself in the end of it all. i.e Staying back and defending the area in gm,es like ctf.

Would you be willing to PM me your DM stories? Or make a story thread if it's too large to tell in a PM? I want to know what happened in this campaign!
Most of my stories would be titled "How an interesting new angle on tradition fantasy was killed by a mob of retarded players" because any time I had a new approach they went in, played it the usual way and then got the shits up and quit when that didn't work for them. Then one of them would run a Forgotten Realms campaign for a while where everyone except me would play a dual wielding Drow ranger... and I'd try to resist the temptation to stab them all to death with sharpened d4s.

I would make a God-awful soldier. I don't like the sun, I don't like being told what to do, and I'm averse to strenuous physical activity. As a matter of fact, I don't even think I meet minimum weight requirements.

In other words, if the country is attacked tomorrow, don't look for me to pick up an assault rifle and save the day.

That, and I'm not so good at blindly following morally questionable orders.
It's not TV or Vietnam. The worst order you would ever get in the real Army is one where they don't give you the full picture.

You looking for the ruthless side of Military? Look at Blackwater.

being good at a shooter doesnt correlate to being a good soldier i dont think, even in the things that directly relate (like shooting a gun well). Being good at guitar hero doesnt make you a good guitar player.

and to answer the question i think i would be an excellent soldier.

I'd say I'm pretty tough, but not soldier tough. I'm not very good at following orders, and my main idea would be "Shoot the enemy until it dies."
I'd be an okay stealth operative, I can be a bit sneaky, but only if I can kill everyone in the building. Other than that, I don't think I'm fit for the job yet.
YET.
Unless we're talking video games, then I'd be a freaking fire truck with legs and chainguns.

I'm not sure, but one thing's for sure, with my weight, I wouldn't even get drafted if there was one going on.

I wouldn't feel right passing any judgment on myself on whether or not I would make a good soldier. Too easy to look for good qualities in oneself that suits the job, instead of the ones that will screw you over. And I have plenty of the latter I think. However, I have always had an interest in joining the Navy Seals...maybe someday I will find out. If it wasn't for the path aviation is going down (unmanned aircraft that is) I would much rather be in the cockpit than on the ground. Flying just comes more naturally to me I guess.
