If they were trying to kill me, or if they were "evil" from my point of view, then I'd have no problem doing whatever was necessary to survive. However if it was some innocent bystander, then I couldn't do it.

it would all depend on who i would have to kill and how much longer that would let me live for. killing an elderly person who is in pain and wants to die to live and extra year or two, sure, but killing a mother of 2 in her 30s so i can live an extra 50 years, no.

I might find myself able to kill to preserve my own life, but never murder. There is a difference.

Seriosuly look up the meaning of the words before questioning that because as that very intelligent being above me already pointed out there is a grave difference between kill and murder.
I can come up with no scenario in that you could murder someone to stay alive (other than cannibalism).

Well, if they were dying themselves and they were asking me to spare a painful death, of course I would.
I wouldn't kill because that's a sin and therefore a one-way ticket to hell.
However, if it were to end someone who will die anwyay's life in a better way, I'm pretty sure I'd be forgiven.
