Would you still eat meat if you had to kill it yourself?

Yes. Have not been able to yet, mostly because I have never been able to hunt, but I am confident that the meat would taste better knowing I put effort into getting it.

Sure. It's a natural part of life, predator versus prey. Also a fun afternoon with family!

Yes, I think it would be more rewarding to eat something I worked to catch.
Probably tastier too, so long as I was allowed to cook it myself.
I'm a hunter and I'm glad to say that natural meat taste amazingly better then anything you could buy at a store. I have even made home-made venison jerky. The same goes for small game and waterfoul (duck, pheasant, ect.).

Note: The best part of a deer is the backstraps (also known as the tenderloins), which you only get 2-3 pounds from a medium sized deer. There are only 3 ways to obtain Backstraps:
1)Take a deer yourself
2)Be very good friends with someone who hunts (and is willing to share some).
3)Buy some online, which cost about $65 USD per pound, plus over-night shipping

I think that you shouldn't eat meat unless you'd be willing to kill, skin etc it yourself. There are too many people who find eating meat acceptable but feel squeamish and say 'I don't want to think about it' when you bring up the topic of the origin of the food.
Yeah that was my point for this question. In real life I rarely find people who would actually want to do it.

An interesting question, to which I ask a question in return...

If I had to kill all the meat I eat, do I have to eat all the meat I kill? Don't wanna be a cannibal or nothin...
That depends on how hungry you are surely. If you were hunting for your tribe and you bring back a whole buffalo then you will probably not waste it.

If you hunted for yourself, and shot a buffalo, then is that even necessary?

ALSO:

Does this mean most hardcore gamers are all natural born killers?

I could do it to fish, I really couldn't do it to anything else. Especially little cuddly rabbits and stuff.

I agree id much rather hunt it and kill it rather than raise it to be slaughtered. I actually am going to start hunting soon.
As weird as it sounds I dont think I could kill and animal i raised I would probably become somewhat emotionally attached to it, ya know watching it grow and all.

I like turkey on a platter, skinned and cooked.
I hate turkey on the meadow, feathered and squawking.

Works for me.

Hand me the buckshot.

Bless all the little poor fish of this world...

Would it make a difference if fish were soft and cuddly?

I don't eat meat now, but if I could kill it with my own hands and prepare it myself, I would. If I could eat meat knowing that I killed it myself, it's okay with me, though I'm afraid I would be a little nervous about the cleaning and gutting at first. My only problem is that it's just plain silly to raise thousands of cows and such just to kill on a conveyor belt. There is, of course, the added bonus of hand-killed meat tasting a hundred times better than that stuff in the store.

I'd quite happily hunt, kill and prepare meat (a stint in an abattoir will have that effect on ya) but I wouldn't like to eat it.

wouldnt be too hard and working for it would surely be good for you, cows are stupid, slow, and tasty. Bad combination lol. its not that im a natural born killer its just that it would be easier to feed my addiction a different way than give it up altogether.

Honestly, barring a life-or-death situation, I probably couldn't. I'm kind of a sissy, it's hard enough for me to eat meat as it is, if I actually had to think about what I was eating, I'd probably become a vegetarian right off the bat.
