Hi,
on a tv show I was watching they were asking about whether you would use this machine if it existed.

Once you enter the machine, you're life is transformed into your perfect life. You live this life until you die. Also once you've entered the machine, you will never know that your "fantasy" life is fake.

EDIT:
Can't believe I forgot this but, also once you enter the machine, you can never leave it until you die.

I don't think I would. Even if it's your perfect life it's still fake and there's something really unsettling about it.
Besides, a perfect life sounds boring. It's the shit stuff that makes life interesting.

Why would anyone turn down that offer?
The human race would probably go extinct if such a thing were available.

You'd need people on the outside to keep the people in the machines pumped full of nutrients...but then they would eventually go into the machines as well.

Until there aren't enough workers, and people start to starve to death. Then the rest of the workers climb into the machine because they can't deal with it anymore.

Nope. My main goals in life are to have fun, and help others, I can achieve both in the real world, just one in the fantasy world.

Plus, there's really no such thing as a perfect place, because every animal on earth is designed to want more than they have and to be greedy. I would argue that it's impossible to be completely satisfied.

Yes, I would use it. Though honestly I'd prefer knowing that my life's fake, otherwise I think I'd eventually work it out (or at least find enough clues to be really freaked out).

and that's how the whole of humanity went extinct... XD

now, if you popped out not a second later when your fake life is over, then it'd be cool, otherwise... meh

I would have to decline. Perfect life sounds utterly boring too me.
Imperfection is the spice of life.

You have managed to make the worlds ultimate life perfecting machine into an awesome horror story. Kudos to you!

OT: I would use it-as long as there are enough people to look after me

Yes. I'd rather be blissfully ignorant to the fact that I'm locked in a machine. I read this series of books and one of them had a machine similar. You were basically in cryo-sleep but your mind was still at work in your own little fantasy. If we're talking something similar to that then most definitely sign me up.

but then the life would be imperfect enough (from the ideal life) that it would be perfect for you that you wouldn't change a thing

a flaw isnt a flaw if its the way you want it
