Wow, this has to be one of the worst advertisements ever. (WoW related)

There's nothing wrong with the commercial. It's a funny reversal of stereotypical gender roles. Calm down.

And you're bringing the economy into a discussion about the importance of the commercial for a completely superfluous video game. Good job.

I actually found the advert to be quite funny. :D I hope other game companies follow suit with this type of marketing.

That's not even the worst ad Blizzard's done lately. They've also made one under the false assumption that Chuck Norris jokes are still (or for that matter, ever were) funny.

And even that is better than those horrendous trailers for the new Chipmunks movies. I honestly believe that those are the worst advertisements I've ever seen.

I'm unusually commenty today, must be all the beer I'm drinking.

When I first saw this commercial, I thought to myself, "What a *****." But this post and all it's comments have changed my mind. Now I think, "Yeah! A *****!"

I live in the uber politically correct country called the U.S.A. Advertisers, afraid of being called sexist, never depict a woman negatively. I have been constantly bombarded with adds that depict men as hopelessly inept. These men need their wives/spouses/significant others to help them solve whatever problem the advertized product solves.

Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMP4PF3DNg8

I know there are a lot of commercials that depict women as nothing more than sex objects like this Godaddy one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmdaB21E2tY But even those sexy women aren't depicted as stupid.

Here's one that depicts a smart, sexy woman and a stupid man in drag, the best of both worlds! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5dsG11Brco

It's just ridiculous. That's why I now love this WoW add. She's pretty stupid to dump a guy who gives her something she loves, she ain't gonna save money for her diamonds while paying monthly fees, and hell if he gave her WoW then he must play it so why wouldn't she want to play together? And why would the boyfriend complain? She's pretty attractive so playing WoW with her would put a little blood in my elf, if ya know what I mean.

I love this commercial! For the first time since the 1980's the man is the better person in a commercial!

Now the Chuck Norris add, I hate. I don't play WoW anymore, but I'm sure Chuck Norris jokes are still the norm in the Barrens. It was something the players created at some point in time that just spread like a virus through the servers and forums. Now that Blizzard has acknowledged it, it's just awkward. It was our joke, part of our subculture. Some of the thrill of being part of a subculture is lost when a part of that subculture becomes an advertisement.

After observing this one and the Chuck Norris ad I can only come to the conclusion that this is Blizzard's desparation technique by trying to rouse the players that left back using old ingame memes, we all chatted about Chuck Norris, and we all chatted about women probably leaving their boyfriends/husbands for the game.

I suppose Blizz never got the memo that memes don't really attact people, but people trying to use memes to gain popularity generate the opposite effect.

It's a terrible commercial and there is no reference to SPvW. It is simply the same girl from that movie and she talks like that in whatever she's in.

The point of this commercial is that moderately attractive douchebag girls play WoW which they feel will appeal to their hideous douchebag male base.

What's worse is the Chuck Norris commercial based on a meme from 2006 which has probably been reiterated on WoW a bajillion times, something that if you go on WoW and type "Chuck Norris" will still happen to this day.

I was sure this was going to be that damn annoying chuck norris ad, blizzard is as creative with their ads as they are their game content.
Is that ad new? Because I saw it for the first time just a few days ago and thought, "Wow. That's only about six years late".
Yeah, I saw it and immediately said "I would have loved this ad 4 or 5 years ago."

I think you are all completely missing the point of that ad, Blizzard are attempting to imply a reasonably attractive single female is playing wow.

Oh wow, that sounded like I just insulted every female wow player out there, didn't it? Totally didn't mean that. Point still stands though, doesn't hurt to remind the greasy masses that females exist and they might just be playing that game and there is an off chance you might be on the same server! :O!

Both me and my girlfriend (both ex WoW players) find it utterly disgusting since it portrays relationships and the work needed to make them last so flippantly.

Funnily enough I was over at my parents place last week and it came on. My dad first says I hate this commercial. I said me too. Then at the very end he shouts out "He should have dumped you, you ugly, annoying, *****!". I must have laughed for ten straight minutes after that and I think I found it so funny because my dad has never played a single video game. I mean you know its horrible when a non-gamer hates it more then I do

With the addition of this and the chuck norris ad I almost think that Blizzards marketing department is making these commercials to appeal to the WoW community rather then the people who dont play it

The only thing this commercial does for me is remind me why I don't play WoW. Who came up with this stupidity?

I'm sorry but this is still the worst commercial in the world:

Yea. That's them NOT being racist. They kept smiley uncle Tom though.

This is only funny if you know who Aubrey Plaza is and the type of characters she plays.
