I was sure this was going to be that damn annoying chuck norris ad, blizzard is as creative with their ads as they are their game content.

Is that ad new? Because I saw it for the first time just a few days ago and thought, "Wow. That's only about six years late".

They just started airing it a month or 2 ago, yeah, they really missed when that damn meme was popular, now most people just want it to die.

In Denmark they have this fundamentalist conspiracy theorist Chuck Norris who promotes those vaccine conspiracies that have left thousands of children dead because of rumours relating it to autism promote it.

So yes, WoW supports murdering children, I don't think I can support that.

On topic I find that advert really dumb. I think they were trying to say "Hot single nerdy chicks play this game". But she just comes across as someone you wouldn't want to socialise with. And basing the advert on a reference to an obscure character in an obscure film will only shrink the target audience the advert is directed towards, which kind of ruins the whole point of y'know... advertising.

It's more the way it's stated. It basically says that games remove any lack of compassion, empathy, etc from you, and you become hyper self-centered and absorbed into the game world (game addiction/game compulsion). That's something that we've spent years trying to break and address and for it to be shoveled by garbage like this advert which I guarantee if I don't see it at least 100+ times on Christmas Day I'll be bloody damn surprised.

Yeeeeeeaaaah. That seemed more like a slightly impish PSA speaking out against World of Warcraft than an ad. She doesn't sound like she's all that into the game, just that she's playing it out of spite; the guy sounds like a dumbass; and there's no selling points about the game itself.

I get that, it obviously shows in the comedic timing and sense of understatement, but it hits too close to home to be all that funny. The character is too unpleasant to laugh along with, and the subject matter it's parodying is actually a serious problem for some people.

I agree that it's shit because it's not even remotely funny, but it's not a shit idea. WoW wants more subscribers, what do? Get a geeky ***** and Chuck Norris and put them in some adverts. It makes sense considering the amount of hard ons in any gamer girl's YouTube comment section. The content for those WoW adverts isn't even important anyway, it's just some celebrities anecdote that's (sometimes vaguely) relevant to WoW. I'd argue that WoW doesn't need to make adverts that inform at all, it just needs to remind people that it still exists.

I wish they didn't use her for that specific advert, she's actually pretty funny in Parks and Recreation and this kinda makes me think less of her, you'd have to be a fucking retard to take that role (in the advert) without realising they just want to exploit some "HAY BOISE AMA GAMER GURL xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD :333" image.

So this girl, first is bitchy because her boyfriend won't give her freaking DIAMONDS (In this economy? Seriously?), and then says 'I'll play the game anyway'. Then she casually mentions how her boyfriend says she loves it more than him, she agrees, so she dumps him.

The worst part? The boyfriend probably got it for her because it was something he enjoyed...So he wanted to share his enjoyment with her. She throws it in his face by saying "I WANTED DIAMONDS", and then takes it and plays the game anyway.

Then when she finds she *loves* the game, she doesn't thank her boyfriend for showing it/giving it to her, she tells him to fuck off because she enjoys her game more than being with him.

How....is this supposed to make me want to try WoW again? Its just implying that people who play WoW are complete pricks. (Not saying they are, simply saying that this is what the commercial implies.)
