So, are you all saying that Dead Space's sole redeeming quality is pretty graphics? Thanks for the heads up.
No what I'm saying is there's a atmosphere to Dead Space that is great (that does include the graphics however) but I just don't know if it can translate well to the wii. Walking down a dark corridor while hearing a man smash his head against a wall repeatedly while simultaneously hearing twinkle twinkle little star playing in the background is truly a creepy experience and that requires a good atmosphere that sucks you in an makes you feel like your there.

Well just because its being ported to the Wii doesn't automatically mean it will be a bad game. Graphics might be not as sharp as on PC or 360 and controls might turn out to be really good. As always, if the game is fun then there is nothing wrong with it. Don't judge before you play.

IMO it will be nowhere near as good as the ps3/360 versions because that game was built with a powerful machine in mind....and wii is NOT powerful...
Yeah I realize that, but all I am saying is give the game a chance like you would anything else before bashing it. Otherwise its just as bad as being a fanboy.

I think they might just because to give it something extra to make up for any of the shortcomings graphics/control wise.

Chirst, why the hate?
Would you guys be pissing so much blood if it was being ported to the PS2?

I think it could port over well, we're not talking of a major graphics whore of a game here.
You haven't got a huge draw distance to worry about. It's dark and 5 - 10 enemies on the screen would be enough and if the motion controls are implemented well then slicing off limbs will have a new lease of life. Ok, so you'll get some jaggies. so what? if a games fun you forget about stuff like that. Are Okami, ICO and Shadow of the colossus any less of a game because of jaggies?

I have it for the PS3 and if it provides a different play experience then I will be picking up the wii version too.

For those people here that judge a console on it's "Power" acting like they're gaming equivalent of Jeremy clarksons love child I think you're going to be sorely disappointed with the next gen of consoles because I am betting we're going to see only a minor update in processor power and more involved control interfaces like motion capture.
Nintendo tried a different hardware approach to sony and Microsoft and it worked. You can guarantee they learnt some lessons from nintendos success.

People just haven't got the money to splash around now. Imagine releasing a 600 quid games console in todays market? People will laugh at you whilst your shareholders sell up. Aint going to happen any time soon, golden age is over.

Move along, you've had your concord moment.

Rant over, now to work.....

Is there some kind of Firefox plug-in I don't know about that alerts idiots to any thread on any message board with the word 'Wii' in the title?

This place is going down the fucking tubes.

Nope its a truly unique game in that everything it does it does really well. Bar one or two frustrating on rails sections it's as close as I've seen to a technically perfect game since Super Mario World.

And it's such such fun blowing limbs off necromorphs... think Resi 4 on the nostromo with added amputation.

the most technically perfect game since Super Mario World......think about that. and dead space was crap. no nice graphics, no intuitive or creative gameplay, crap suvival horror that has been done before...better.

Does anyone actually remember when console wars were fun? When you and your mates would debate the merits of the consoles, and then both enjoy what you have while at the same time enjoying the other guys choice as well? Good times. What's going on these days? Companies being accused of 'selling out' in an economic crisis, jeez guys these companies should just make games for one console so it doesn't net them more money so they can release bigger and better games. Yeah that makes sense.

Nintendo is trying something different, but they get crapped on because they aren't 'catering to your tastes.' Seriously, fanbrats, get over yourselves. These companies aren't loyal to you, you are loyal to them. Nintendo should be praised for showing people the good in gaming, they should be cheered on for getting older people into games. The whole concept behind the Wii (even its name implies it) is that everyone should play games, no matter what the age. Nintendo's plan did work, they are selling gaming machines to those people who would never game. Are they having fun? Yes. So why do you want to spoil the party for them?

As I see it 'Hardcore' gamers with the mentality that gaming should be only made for them, with a side of online multiplayer, are the real problem here. You guys are a joke. You delibrately troll on forums such as these to rag on games that you have no interest in, calling people that enjoy those games 'idiots' and ranting on and on about how companies like Nintendo, Capcom and EA are 'selling out' based on the fact that they are trying to reach new audiences. I've said this before, and I'll repeat it: You guys are scared. Scared of the fact that gaming is becoming more and more mainstream, scared that your 'niche' past time will stop being that. But most of all, I think you are scared that your 'hardcore' games like Gears of War, Call of Duty and Halo will somehow disapear and all that will be left is the 90th iteration of Peggle and Mario Party. This isn't going to happen.

Gaming companies constantly lament how they want to continue satysfing the 'core' gamer, and I don't see that mentality ending any time soon. The Wii has its place in the market, it as well has its share of 'Hardcore' titles, but as a machine for everyone it will continue getting games that are easy to play and don't cost much to make. To the Hardcore: The Wii doesn't affect you, continue buying the games you like and play them. There is no need to rave on about being 'betrayed' just move on. By the way, I think it's great that Dead Space is coming to the Wii, let's see if they get the controls right.

I have all three consoles.

Depending on what exactly I want from a game that I'm interested in, I'll buy it on the console.

Honestly? My wife plays the Wii, I play the 360, and I may play a game on the PS3, but we usually just use it to watch blu-ray movies on (don't even get me started on how disappointing Home is).

I don't expect Dead Space to do well on the Wii. It's not the type of game that people who play the Wii a lot like to play.

Do people actually care that much to rant about how they don't like the wii getting a game?

Chill, seriously.

It's the Internet. Welcome to the Internet, where rants are a dime-a-dozen and good ideas get buried in inane topics in forums.

Why do people care so much if the Wii gets Dead Space its just a chance for them to play a great survival horror with perfect graphics just without the perfect graphics but they will still have the great storyline and scary darkness
