Wait, so Level 5 are making both White Knight Chronicles and Dark Cloud 3 in the same year? Do these developers actually sleep?
Their developers don't actually make games. They make robots which make games. Robots never sleep.

Get the one that has the games you want but under no circumstances should you bother with the Arcade unit if you go ahead and buy a 360.

Me being someone who owns a Wii, not a 360, I would have to say that it is a good buy. I have played games on my brothers 360(i.e. GTA 4, Halo 3, Army of Two) and I had some fun with it.

Just remember to take XBL into consideration.

-and don't listen to the people who "bring out the list of X-CLUSIVZ!" seriously, "More" games doesn't mean "better" games, and you should only look at the list of games yourself to appease YOUR tastes, not someone elses.

Ps3 = 532 games.

Xbox = 550 games.
Playstation Exclusives (Worth Playing):
Gran Turismo
God of War
Little Big Planet
Metal Gear Solid
Ratchet & Clank
Resistance
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Xbox Exclusives (Worth Playing):
Blue Dragon
Fable II
Forza
Gears of War
Halo
Infinite Undiscovery
Lost Odyssey
Ninja Gaiden II
Star Ocean
Tales of Vesperia
Too Human

I may have missed one or two, but when making the choice that's your best comparison then after that compare what else you get with the systems. Xbox has a much better online setup which will only get a lot better with the new release coming out soon, and Playstation has a Blu-Ray player. I own all 3 platforms and my playtime is distributed pretty much 90% Xbox, 9% Wii, and 1% PS3. Take that for what you will, I'm pretty sold on the 360 after being a huge fan of the PS2.
Mass Effect - how could you leave this out?
And how did gears get up there? That is cross-platform PC, So is mass effect.

My experience with MS support has been great. 1 disc of Lost Odyssey wasn't playing, I make a call and they send the entire game to me, no charge, no hassle. Xbox of a friend broke, sent in, get it fixed for free under warranty, warranty renewed on his new one also.
Arcade not having enough harddisk space for the new interface: get a free memory card.

Since you already have a Wii, I see no reason not to get a 360. And saying the 360 is near the end of it's phase is like saying Obama is a secret muslim.

PS: They're making a Dark Cloud 3? Thats the RPG where you build your own weapons out of junk, right?

...Oh man, I have a stiffy now, Dark Cloud 2 was the last RPG I liked (felt like the exploration levels dragged onnnnnnn though)
So, you just said that he should get a 360, and then said that a game that has actually aroused you is coming up and is a Ps3 exclusive? Mixed messages much?
...Nooo, I said there was no reason he shouldn't get a 360, as he already had a Wii, implying he had already had a broader experiance and if his intuition should lead him to purchase an xbox360, there was no reason not to. I wasn't even aware getting a ps3 was an option.

Also, Tinkle!

The only problem with getting an xbox is that it will make your junk shrink...

Seriously though if you like the 360, get one but make sure you get one with a full warranty.

Although i think that the current xbox life expectancy might be reaching its end, Its hardware is getting iffy. (Hold there fanboys, no need to reply i don't care.)

I would either wait it out and buy whatever Micro$oft plans to do to save their console or go with a ps3.
What the hell do you mean, I couldn't name 20 PS3 games, yet I could easily name 20 big blockbuster hits for the 360.

AND I OWN BOTH CONSOLES

Also to the people talking about arcade counts for the 360. I will say the orginial ps3 can play all of the ps2 games unlike the 360 where only about 50 or so arcade titles+about 50 supported xbox games.

It is pretty great, You can send in a busted, through a stupid and obvious mechanical flaw, Xbox, and get a new repaired one a few days after the original broke without hassle.

Xbox is nice, it has lots of games, though the newer, high-end ones cause the 360 to make constant loud noises and overheat. Games get better but the tech stays the same.

Yeah, Not to mention that a new xbox is in the makes very soon since the 360 is at its limits right now. PS3 is only about 35-45% at its limits since most games don't utilize more then 2 or 3 of its processors. and It has six useable ones.

Actually, seeing as how the Core version is now down to $199 MSRP, you would be pretty well off picking one up (note: get the regular, not the core). Plus, a fair deal of the PS3's exclusives have been leaking to 360. I mean, even Final Fantasy, Sony's ace-in-the-hole, is no longer going to be PS3 exclusive. So a 360 nowadays is a pretty good buy. Yes, Red Ring of Death sucks, but they have extended the warranty to 3 years if you get one, so they'll reapir it for free up to three years after you buy it. Personally, it's my favorite system, but I know there are folks out there that will dissagree vehemently with me.
Final Fantasy has never been sonys ace in the hole. There have been final fantasies on the gamecube, nes, gameboy, gameboy color, and DS. Microsoft is simply the only gaming company that has yet to have one. Also considering that Final Fantasy Vs. XIII is staying exclusive to the ps3 i would say sony hasnt lost everything.

Now if sony were to lose God of War, MGS, and R&C then i would say sony is screwed. (concerning that there has been alot of talk of MGS4 on the 360 this may soon be a reality)

More on topic though. No, you should not wait this year out with only the wii. Get a 360 or ps3, which one really depends on personal preference. The PS3 has quite a few good games(including all of the ps2 titles the one i have can play), a free online service(quality varies), and is practically indestructable. The 360 has tons of games, good $5 a month online service, and breaks often (personal experiance)

Your an idiot.
Im not saying its true im just saying alot of talk about it is flying around. ive already played it on the ps3 and im a little perplexed as to how they would fit that amount of content on a regular disc instead of blu-ray. More perplexing is kojimas statements, but ive heard comments like that from developers in the past. Its just something that has been floating around, chill out.

How so? most of the best games are on both consoles, and with the Xbox holding Mass Effect, Fable 2, and many others, the PS3 has actually a poor selection when you get to exclusives.
My thoughts exactly. Your argument goes straight out the window when half of the games on those lists are shared between two or more consoles.

My guess is they would have to go back to a multi-disk system, there by making that joke between Snake and Otacon about the dual layer system pointless, or shorten the game itself.

But seriously I don't really see that much of a difference between the fun had on the 360 or on the PS3. Right now either system has a number of games that you could easily waste an entire day on and trying to raise one higher then the other at this point is just an effort in futility.

Mass Effect is on the PC and works really well there. however, no one can deny that fable 2 is amazing.

As far as the ps3 having a poor selection, i realize its a matter of oppinion, but i want to call you blind. White Knight Chronicals, quantum theory, heavy rain, infamous(i will point out that none of those have a number after their names. aka, they are all new ip). Then there is the upcoming resistance 2, LBP(which im pretty sure is out), and socom (is out).
Dont get me wrong, there are games just as good as these out on the 360, but i find it odd that someone could see these games on a list and write them off as 'poor'
