Xbox 360 or Playstation 3? which one should i get?

Either. who really cares anymore they both produce the same graphics, they both have awesome sound and they both have awesome games. So what's the difference? Buy whichever, because neither can outdo each other. I own a 360, but only because it was cheaper. I'd love both, but only because I like collecting things.

They both have the same graphics at the moment but when developers work out how to get the best out of the PS3 and produce some games exclusively for it to take full advantage of its hardware the PS3 will leave the Xbox 360 far, far behind.

i had both systems but just sold my 360, the ps3 overpowered it with killer exclusives. both systems are great but for me the ps3 won. also the ps3 may be more expensive but you get more for your money. rechargeable controller, built in wireless and free online multiplayer are all included whereas you need to buy those separately for 360 and as i mentioned the ps3 has a great selection of exclusives.

This in a hutshell is what I did, I had both but realised I was spending more on my PS3 I dont have time to play many game anymore so the massive library wasnt an issue for me. I have four great games on PS3 and a cool blue ray player. It fits my needs so I sold my 360

Although the 360 is currently better for JRPGS bizzarely, although demons souls should fill that need

I prefer the 360's selection of games.
The main downside with the 360 is the infamous RROD which I got after 2 years of owning the console. Microsoft repaired it for free and sent it back in 10 days. Can't really argue with that.

Ok before the flaming starts (and it will if this thread isn't locked) You gotta ask yourself 3 things.

What console has the better library of games that appeal to you?

What console has the comfortable controller for you?

What console after accessories you figure you will need has the better price fit for you?

We can't tell you which one you should buy. Each one has its own pros and cons that pretty much equal each other out.

Which console do your friends have?

Not a very important thing but playing with friends is always fun.

I personally have a PS3 and am quite happy with it.

Thats because he made this thread purely to gain badges - everyone who posted on here has proved it impossible to recommend one over the other because they are so damn similar - and they are both using the same damn argument from last year.

360 Fanboy's : PS3's got no games (its getting a good variety of exclusives)
PS3 fanboy's: RROD! (The Red ring problem is near impossible to get via a heating problem as Microsoft have edited the 360's designs).

Having owned both I can say that the PS3 is better.

Definitely go for the Xbox 360. It's library of games is a lot better than that of the PS3. Unless you need a blu-ray player, in which case PS3 might be worth it.

The playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 are two of the greatist gaming consoles to come out too date. And both have there own pro's and con's, but which one do you think is better fore someone who wants to move up to the next generation for the first time?
( to all the "reasearch you moron!" posters, i have done my reasearch. i know about the detailed pros and cons, i just want another persons honest opinion about his/her persional preference. yea, i should of looked at the other threads to make shure that this wasent a dead horse, but still, i just asked a simple question, no need to be rude.)

But ps3 has a few good games too, so let the exclusives make up your mind.

I probably shouldn't touch this flamebait but I was also weighing the pros and cons when I was shopping for a next gen console and while they're both fun I ended up with the ps3 and couldn't be happier.

I did like the custom soundtrack option (for every game) and the consumer development kit (forget what they call it) available to 360 owners but in the end the prospect of paying for online and (mostly) the rrod scared me away.

But if you're someone who wont mind not being able to play a game you're in the middle of for a few weeks while the machine gets repaired and don't need online or a blue ray player, the 360 is definitely the cheaper choice.

I honestly wasn't interested in either until I got an hdtv but after that I wanted a game console and a blue ray player.

Do you have an hdtv? What about a psp? if the answer to either of those is yes, you should probably get the ps3.
Like I said, they're both fun but if I had gotten a 360 and the rrod (especially in the middle of an engrossing game like Fallout 3), I would've been really pissed. It is funny because I always expect sony to have the flimsy hardware; go figure.

And don't make your choice based on the controller. The controller is the easiest/cheapest thing to replace.

Personally, I prefer the 360. It's cheaper, and it has more games that I like. PS3 might be better if you like FPSs, however.

It is so much better than 360. I should know because I own both of them. Owned both of them, I sold my 360 when I realized that every 360 "exclusive" can be played on PC and should be played on PC. Gears of War is better on PC and Mass Effect is only playable on the PC!

So get a PS3. you wont be dissapointed!
