There is one cooling fan that works incredible well. It takes power from a different power source, this keeps it from melting your xbox and stealing power from it. It clips onto the back. I know of atleast 20 people that have it and it is the only fan that really works.

This is the IP address to where i bought mine.

MS repair in europe is a lot different from the US. I had a big long talk with them over the phone when mine RROD'd and they will try and fix you current console, if they can't fix it they send you a new one. However they will never ever give you another person's one, so theres no fear of getting someone's refurbished Xbox in return...if you live in europe anyway. I was actually ok with mine being sent away because I got it back the next week (I sent it on a monday, go it about thursday next week after) and during that time I was playing WoW anyway + you get some free xbl time.

make sure it's out in the open, don't put anything on or around it, no stickers, every hour take a 5 minute break and if you really want to play it safe, get a fan for it, not one that you put on your xbox, just a basic fan you would use to keep a room or small area clean.

Well, knocking on wood...this is what I have done so far (I've owned my 360 a year now):

1) Elevated off of ground (no carpet underneath to retain heat or block vents).
2) Turn unit to sit vertically instead of horizontally, thus allowing for more surface area to be exposed to circulating air, theororizing heat will disipate slightly better.
3) Remove all direct light from unit (meaning...not sitting under a lamp or near a window) thus minimizing any ambient heat sources.
4) I have a regular floor standing fan trained on it during extended periods of play or summer months. Sometimes I've come home this summer and my thermostat has read 85F...fan comes out and focuses on my 360.
Uncanny. I do exactly the same with mine.

Hasn't stopped them RRODing on me. I'm now on my third machine.

TOP TIP: Keep the box UPS return it to you in, you may need it in future.
Or you could, you know, save your money for the Xbox 1080.

I mean PC. Yeah, save your money for a PC.
Finally, I've started a MEME. I won't mention its name again until my prediction is confirmed by events or refuted. Promise...

Dunno, still on my first 360, though sometimes I have to talk dirty to it on order to get it to read my Left 4 Dead disk.

I also discipline my electronic equipment with violence. You have to establish dominance or they will defy you, and I will not allow that. That's why my 360 looks all beat up, it fell down the stairs.
