Agreed.

Ok then, time to get serious. IT DOESN'T MATTER which is better. After all, the Wii has kicked the figurative shit out of both of the other systems in the sales department.

PS3 vs. 360 threads are pointless now anyway. Both systems have their advantages/ disadvantages, so people will buy whichever appeals to them more. All you're doing by making this thread is encouraging the trolls/fanboys to rise from the dirt. I'll overlook this only because you might not know how things work here.

Im genuinly asking, why, i haven't had enough people tell me why.
I play because there is more people online. It has halo 3 and gears both fun 3ps fps for online, I can stream HD movies from my compy though it. It's cheaper, I like ninja gaiden, I like achievements, I like fable, it plays my old xbox games... So yeah....Also I have a blind hatred for playstation after seeing many PS2s get disc read errors. :(
Ummm, im no scientist, but im guessing you've had your PS2 a while, or you have the slim line, and second of all im talking about PS3s, you can judge a console based on its predecesser.
I know that was just an extra tacked on to secretly spur flaming :) Really for me it all comes down to the games and 360 is where its at for me.

If that really is your motive you could just read a review.

Cool games like the orange box came out for the PC/Xbox 360 first so people bought those. Then, when everyone saw their friends playing TF2, they wanted to join in. The PS3 was also more expensive at the launch

Also, the online is better
i argue, in the same house, roughly the same distance from the router, even with the attachment to connect to the internet, it was lag-captial on about 95% of the servers i went on, on any game.

Also the people *face palm* oooh the people e.g. CoD4, free for all, it was pretty much this "oh you fuckin' noob" (after about 3-4 headshots with the R700) repeated about 7000 times, and how they chat on, and on, and on about how great they are and im about 6 kills ahead of everyone, i don't think im any better, i just think i have a better shot then most people. At least on the PS3 some of them are french, and no matter how many times i hear it, that accent with 'ze rrro'ge 'zey 'av it neh'ver gets ol'd

Reviewers are on thing, gamers are another, reviewers tell you to get this game, but what do they know about you? you want friends to recommend a game, or people who are experienced enough.

Well to be honest its a stupid question:

free internet,
I disagree, I feel having to pay not only reduces the amount of online cheating, but is worth it when considering the vast amount of exclusive DLC and the party chat options available on the 360. Whilst others beleive having free Internet is a bonus - its pretty subjective.

graphics that make you want to "jizz in your pants" (im not TO fused about graphics, but in some cases it makes a game good as an added feature to a good game, it can't be something that a game bases on),
Actually the graphics between the two consoles are identical in about 90% of multi-platform games (in which 5% look better on the PS3 and vice-versa) as shown by IGN's videos on the subject.

a better gaming community,
Subjective.

not to mention how much more fun the games are (360 fanboys bang on about how many games there are on the 360 and i reply, well yeah, but how many of them are fun, quality over quantity, dude).
Subjective

Thats why I dislike this argument - it has no credibility, all points are either made up, or are completely subjective.

Yeah, they're my favorite too. Because I play games for enjoyment. Games are fun.

I'm not going to get caught up in quality of games / online experience / graphics, so I'm just sticking to price.

The most expensive 360 in its lifetime was $400.
The most expensive PS3 in its lifetime was $600, and that was after Sony cut the original price of $250, resulting in a loss of over $2 billion.

In short, the 360 Elite was less than half the cost of the most expensive PS3 at launch.
Well...that was at its launch, am i wrong? How long was the 360 around before the PS3? so of course the price was going to be less, and also 360 was expencive when it came out, the PS2 was expencive when it came out, hell, the PS1 was expencive...when it came out.

Also you get what you pay for with the PS3 i can tell you that. Admittedly the PS3 on its launch was far from perfect, i can tell you, i got one the day of its relese! Three games, one that was good, the other two were average, but now down the line i look back on buying it and i don't regret it one bit.

Q:Now here is the point of all this...WHY? Why do 360 players play the 360?

The good: Superior selection of games, including several console-exclusive titles; all games in high-definition; easy-to-use Dashboard interface; excellent online gaming and communications via Xbox Live; plays hundreds of (but not all) original Xbox titles; doubles as a superior digital media hub and Windows Media Center extender; online Marketplace allows for easy purchases of downloadable full-scale games, minigames, movies, and TV shows; latest version offers HDMI output with 1080p support; reduced power supply footprint; new processor runs cooler and quieter.
Those are reasons why someone may play the 360.

Hmm...you claim to just want to "know why" people might play the 360, yet seem intent on defending the PS3 and proclaiming it superior - your justification for this (and your claim your not a fanboy) are significantly weakning.

You might want to use a spell check too.

OBJECTION! (ha, i've always wanted to do that)

I shall now point you to my previous statments.

1. Superior selection? Ha, most of the 360 games are FPSs for starters, good selection there, second, how many of them are remembered? Exclucives only i mean and also, the ones that are going to be put on the PC don't count. Just to add one more stab to the body, how many of them are fun, as in REAL fun.

2. High-def.? your compairing to the PS3 here, that is no argument, besides i like to avoid the Def. of a game, it doesn't count to much of the games play value.

3. Excellent? Well im sorry to say but the PS3 is my choice of online, the 360 lagged like there was a lag fetish going on in every server. Besides i believe you have to pay for it, PS3 is free *smiles, then sparkle from the teeth*

4. ALL PS2 and PS1 titles are available on the PS3 60GB version.

5. I haven't seen the new 360 Dashboard, but the first one was more complicated then the PS3 one i thought, then again i never got use to it, and hardly use it, so thats scratched from the argument

6. 2 words "Blu-Ray"

7. The PSN store isn't to complicated to navigate, but i hear its more difficult then Xbox marketplace, so i'll give you that one.

8. The PS3 has always had the 1080pi, just like the 360 though not all games can cope with that.

Finally, 9. the PS3 is the most green out of any console (the Wii is the worse in the console wars at the moment)

I don't know who your trying to impress with all that, but the PS3 has MOST of the wins, i was trying not to get into this, but i've played both, and the PS3 has always been the winner.

Besides, the amount of stupid things people have done with there console to prove its superiorty is silly, but does stand its argument, go on Youtube for example and watch what people do, and you can see how much the PS3 can endure, its like a nano-fortess.

trollness besides, 360 looks better, all my friend have it enjoy the halo series, gears looked awesome and when it came out help up to my expectation and the reason i dislike the ps3 is because metal gear solid, i sat through about 3 hours of count scenes with my friends and it was just astoundingly stupid. riddle me this why does everyone have xm8 in the future when they got canceled late last year?

Yes, because when people say something is better, when its not, i prove them wrong, also there not answering the question itself, they say the "good" things about it, but never one big reason or a justified reason. Ok then if you going to be like that, im a fanboy, now if you done using that, tell me why i CAN'T be a fanboy?

Spell check? maybe because i would rather rely on memory then a programme designed to correct mistakes that don't need to be corrected, it seems that you can clearly read what im saying, and so, therefore can't complain about spelling.

Also taking a shot at someone's spelling means your running out of arguments.
