rollness besides, 360 looks better, all my friend have it enjoy the halo series, gears looked awesome and when it came out help up to my expectation and the reason i dislike the ps3 is because metal gear solid, i sat through about 3 hours of count scenes with my friends and it was just astoundingly stupid. riddle me this why does everyone have xm8 in the future when they got canceled late last year?
Lets face facts, that is such a weak argument. I don't feel the need to say anything, other then, stop playing instant "fun" games and learn to be patient to get the REAL fun out of a game, meaning, a good story, that isn't as simple as "Mr. worms A-B-C" book for toddlers

Yes, because when people say something is better, when its not, i prove them wrong, also there not answering the question itself, they say the "good" things about it, but never one big reason or a justified reason. Ok then if you going to be like that, im a fanboy, now if you done using that, tell me why i CAN'T be a fanboy?

Spell check? maybe because i would rather rely on memory then a programme designed to correct mistakes that don't need to be corrected, it seems that you can clearly read what im saying, and so, therefore can't complain about spelling.

Also taking a shot at someone's spelling means your running out of arguments.
See post 26 - your argument has already been proven to lack credibility...

Please leave these forums...not only do you fail to grasp the idea of subjective opinion, but you also created one of worst topics imaginable - one that unfortunately has been done 3 times in recent memory.
While I agree with you that this is a VERY bad topic you just don't seem very friendly.
I'm saying this just so your aware.

OP: Very, very bad topic to use. These types of topics end with probation's, suspensions, and at very worse banning. Why? Well they turn into huge flame wars that we don't like. The Escapist thrives off of meaningful and thought provoking gaming discussion not fanboy flame wars. For future reference "vs." threads are not liked around here.
Cheers.

Valve likes us better than you ; ) (joke)

I've never been much of a PlayStation fan. It stems from the "live in your world, play in ours" marketing campaign. It seemed so pretentious and snobbish.

I like my Xbox because it was cheaper and I don't need a blu-ray player. I use my PC more anyway.

I think that Sony got complacent and Microsoft took advantage of that. The Wii is still destroying both though.

Yeah, playing an american marine fighting against nazi-zombies in full uniform, in berlin, in an insane asylem, with the zombies getting stronger and bigger with each wave, buying guns from a magic drawing of a gun in chalk, or a magic box, by gaining point from killing zombies or rebuilding half-arsed wood defences, with rayguns, electro-fields and cokes that cost cents (in germany? hmm, i thought they used a different currency) which bestow powers upon you, but when you fall over you lose them *Large inhale* with posters in will English.

Yeah real easy to follow that.

I am aware, I'm not trying to be friendly, when someone posts a topic as idiotic as this one, with such a poorly constructed argument in the OP - my first reaction is going to be "attack". Maybe a while ago I might have felt differently but the sheer amount of idiocy from certain people on this forum, particularly recently, has made me think otherwise.

360
Better Games Quality and quantity
Better online
Better controles (no 6 axis)
Qraphics are only a little worse and it don't effect gameplay
360 wins in my opinion

for the record, the unit of currency in the zombie mode is "points", not cents or dollars.
and no one ever goes around boasting about how cod is the greatest game ever or how deep the plot is. its simple fun, which is what i though games were suppose to be. and at what point did i even mention cod, i said Nazi's since ts probably the most common enemy in video games ever. also that game is on ps3 so just stfu about that anyways

Nintendo Wii is way better than 360 and PS3...

Just kidding.

I have recently posted a topic on this exact thing in a different context, I chose the Xbox 360 because it's cheaper and it has funner games (that I can pull of the top of my head).

Let the flame war begin

Move along unless you going to say something productive.
X360 vs. PS3 threads are never productive
Then read the comments above, then you will understand the thread.
There is nothing to understand. Its one set of fanboys arguing with another set over which system is better.

Alright fair enough. I respect that, and there is a good bit of logic in that. Well, good day to you.

I'm not going to get caught up in quality of games / online experience / graphics, so I'm just sticking to price.

The most expensive 360 in its lifetime was $400.
The most expensive PS3 in its lifetime was $600, and that was after Sony cut the original price of $250, resulting in a loss of over $2 billion.

In short, the 360 Elite was less than half the cost of the most expensive PS3 at launch.
Well...that was at its launch, am i wrong? How long was the 360 around before the PS3? so of course the price was going to be less, and also 360 was expencive when it came out, the PS2 was expencive when it came out, hell, the PS1 was expencive...when it came out.

Also you get what you pay for with the PS3 i can tell you that. Admittedly the PS3 on its launch was far from perfect, i can tell you, i got one the day of its relese! Three games, one that was good, the other two were average, but now down the line i look back on buying it and i don't regret it one bit.
Uhh.. ITS EXPENSIVE! Not expencive.

Really dude, this is a fail post. Lock please.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Xbox wins.

For one, story has precious little to do how fun a game is. If that were the case, Bethesda's Redguard would be one of the most fun games ever devised. But as it turns out, for the most part I was hoping for a book adaptation of it, since every other aspect of the game was atrociously done.

And second, the PS3 games aren't really more complex than the ones on the 360. If you want to talk about complex games that require patience, you might be better off trying [http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/] these [http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=171398] games [http://www.computerharpoon.com/hce] before saying anything.

But yes, by doing a simple search you'll learn two things:
1. This thread has been done plenty of times.
2. They never end well.

Besides, it's hard to take you seriously when you've basically ignored everything D_987 and others has said throughout. Instead, you keep repeating points that are obviously your opinions, which in part are based on misinformation (for example, if you bothered checking, the only big exclusive shooter franchises the 360 has are Halo and Gears of War, most of the other exclusives being from other genres) and forgetting that people might have theirs. We're not here to convert you.

I have a 360 because there were games on the 360 I wanted. (At the time, Gears of War, Halo 3, and Crackdown)

Nowadays, I have PS3 as well, and I got it because I wanted Killzone 2. I'll also probably pick up Resistance 1 & 2 sooner or later. Personally, there's nothing else exclusive to the PS3 I have any interest in at the moment.

Point being, people get consoles because they want to play games it has. Your opinion of games on the PS3 compared to games on the 360 is irrelevant, even if all PS3 games were notably better than every game on the 360 (which isn't the case), it still wouldn't change the fact that each console has games that the other does not, and if somebody wants to play those games, they'll need the console for it.

Also, I love the 360 controllers so much more :p

I've read all the comments Spirultima and, quite honestly and bluntly, in my opinion you seem to enjoy portraying yourself as an idiot, or are an idiot.

It may just be me, but posting comments that are negative toward the Microsoft system and positive toward the Sony system is inflammatory and inviting trolling (Please somebody, other that Spirultima, explain that term to me, I'm quite lost to its meaning.). Posting posts that say it is a point of opinion and you "just want to know why" will not make those post go away.

One begins to wonder how you could of, if it was your initial intention, posted a thread that is entirely subjective and void of any emotions. I have come to the following.

Firstly, if you want a balanced discussion, don't degrade one side of the argument before the debate had even begun.

Secondly, do not say that this thread is not "troll or flaming thread", your balanced introduction to the topic will invite balanced discussion

Thirdly, do not say you "own a system, and wonder why people own the other crap system" (I apologise for my paraphrasing.) because that, is well, unhelpful at best.

Finally, I own an Xbox, because I enjoyed the ability it gives me online, since Sony decided that such an out of the way place such as New Zealand didn't deserve the full online capabilities of the PS (yes Microsoft didn't also, but they gave me more than Sony did). I also prefer the games and the exclusive downloadable context for example I enjoy the Halo games, mainly because of the lack of realism in the genre where at no point are you intentionally killing humans, which I like.

But, if I had the money I would by a Playstation and possibly Wii.

Have a nice day.
