it's possible that yahtzee is overworking himself-he just released a novel, he is still working at the mana bar all the time, trying to keep up with ZP, extra punctuation, and fullyramblomatic...maybe the guy COULD use a break. but not to appease his silly fanboys-i don't think his comedy has gone down a bit.
^ pretty much this. He is quite the busy guy.

I do wish he would lay off the penis jokes, but I still love his work.

I actually thought it was a step up. I felt his similes were of a higher standard this week.

It's your opinion, if you don't like don't warch. It's freakin free.

While I know what the OP is saying, I think it really has more to do with the fact that most of us have been watching ZP for quite some time now. I'd say the quality's roughly the same, but the fact that it's all very familiar to us now will alter our view of the quality.

It'd be interesting to get somebody who's never watched ZP before, have them watch it all in reverse chronological order, and see what they thought by the end.

Its not that yahtzee isn't entertaining anymore ... its just that he seems to have found a few games hes actually 'liked' in the past few months, and he can't get around to insulting them enough.

For example ... his limbo 'review.' Although hes hurling insults in all directions, its obvious that he likes this game.

A lot of his recent Zero Punctuation videos feel like they are just lacking in quality to me. Its like watching a really bad comic trying to do stand up but halfway through he realizes that he isn't funny at all so he decides to just insult everything and act like a prick. Perhaps he just needs to take a week or two off.

What do you think of the recent Zero Punctuation videos in comparison to the older ones?
I havent notiched this i think he has usually the same funny level and now and then has funnyier reviews and not as funny reviews it happens i mean look at all comedy tv. Not every single episode is funny.

It's pretty much the way its always been. Don't understand why there have been so many threads lately telling him he sucks right now.. Hmm maybe its because nothing good is coming out right now? Or maybe it's because you need to take a break for lets say a week or two?

The quality of a Zero Punctuation episode is either inversely proportional to the quality of the game being reviewed or directly proportional to how much Yahtzee hates a certain genre/series/etc. So, if he is reviewing a good-to-average game that isn't something he particularly hates, we're not going to get a good Zero Punctuation out of it.

i feel like this happens every so often with yahtzee and many other things of this type. several months ago i felt like yahtzee wasnt funny anymore and then got really into unskippable. then i felt like unskippable was getting stale and got really into yahtzee again. i dont really think theres anything wrong with it, they're still the most entertaining video reviews for games that ive found on the internet (though lets be honest, they arent exactly reviews)

Anyone think that maybe it's because *we've* been seeing his videos every week, for years? I noticed this as I watched every one of his videos from earliest to most recent (make whatever comments you want about my lack of a life. I was entertained for that whole time.), and at a certain point it reached a sort of uncanny valley. It got predictable and stopped being as funny.
Too much of anything, even your most favorite game, movie, whatever, in the world, gets old after a while. Since no one here is able to make Yahtzee take a break, just take a break from him, watch something else entertaining, then when you come back, it's almost refreshing.
*insert various psychological arguments for all this, blah blah, etc etc*

I've been thinking this recently; I think due to his busy schedule of running a bar, publishing a book etc, for him ZP has become a chore rather than a pleasure, and you can tell he just doesn't enjoy it anymore. Rather than a way of getting a message across, it's just something he has to do - an obligation. It shows in his work.

think about it, the quality of the ZP episode will depend on what games he's doing. if all he gets is wii sports 17, or generic shooter 57 then he can't really stretch that out. also its your personal opinion, do not assume that everyone agrees with you.

Even though hes still hilarious i still it would be good for him to take a break from it so he can get to work on his other stuff and get to relax a bit more.

I said this in the last 'Yahtzee isn't good anymore thread'
Just because you don't enjoy it as much now doesn't mean he's wrong just that your wrong and that you won't be happy until his show bends to your every desire.
What does the pretty noticeable decline in quality of humor, both in the jokes and witty hatred, have to do with someone's desires?
The fact that they, just like a persons opinions, are totally subjective. Me, I still enjoy his videos as much (on average) as I ever did. Sure, I might like some old reviews better than some new ones. But I've enjoyed his new reviews better than some old ones. My point is, that to me he seems to be up to his usual standard. Varying, but still every week hilarious.
