Wait, you're saying that he would think the humor sucked if they did not bring back the cake meme?

He has since that game came out said in columns and videos that the meme is old and tired and that he never wants to hear it again.

Of course he'll make fun of it though. That's his job. That's his bit. He didn't really do his bit with the first Portal game, but thats cool because he also made fun of the other Orange Box games. Reviewing it as a stand-alone game he will have to make fun of it at least a little bit.

I've no idea how you read my sentence so that you came to the conclusion that I said anything bad about the humor in the first game. What I meant was that due to it's lenght the amount of dialogue will be a lot more thus it will not be ass funny percentage-wise.

1. Doesn't Yahtzee like a challenge? Yeah, as long as it isn't deliberately trying to fuck you over like in Demon's Souls, he generally like a challenge.

2. Irrelvent. The game looks plenty funny.

3. The plot probably explains how Chell survived the time gap. That's called "Writing". It's what people do to write a good story. Ever hear of it?

4. Weren't the Leg Bracer's in the first game? Yeah, if you poke around the commentary, they say they were added because people wondered how Chell could fall so far and be perfectly okay. If he didn't mention them in the Portal 1 review, he won't mention them in the Portal 2 review unless it links up to a joke about the new content.

Will he bash it? Yeah, probably. Then again, Portal 1 is the only game he hasn't criticized, so I don't think anyone expects him to spend a whole Portal 2 review saying "Oh my God this game is great" for five minutes. Just sit back, relax, and see what Yahtzee does. There's not point in analyzing it any further than that.

Have you actually SEEN the trailer for the new portal. The other AI in it? The cake wasn't even a joke in the last one. Just some people took it too far and now the rest of the folk that like it are sheep blindly thinking it still holds it's laughs.

Also, please think about what a CRITIC is suppose to do. He CRITICizes as part of his job. Call it bitching if you wish, but your just proving yourself to be inflexible and malcontent with other people expressing opinions, even though they have NOTHING in relation to your self.

Yahtzee is not a game critic. He's someone that makes comedy about games. Thats why it's better when he reviews a bad game or at least has a bad experience with the game. It's sad though that so many people take his rants to heart and miss out on so many good games. I've played many of the games he's reviewed and found some real gems.

I mean, look at how many people don't play Demon's Souls because Yahtzee complained about it, and it's really really awesome. The only game Yahtzee reviewed that I have to agree with him on is Dark Void, which was admittedly pretty bad...although it was just missing something.

A. Enjoy the game a point out the flaws like he always does

B. Jump in waiting for a good game, but instead utter shite, bashing ensues

C. Jumps in, hates it in the beggining but in the end it sucks him in like as he put it, a triple cunted hooker

D. The game is pushed back way too far back, he begins to hate waiting, he goes in angry but then he relaizes it was worth the wait, everyone is happy

But why care what yahtzee is going to say? He's entertaining to listen to, but I don't base the games I play based off of what he says

Don't forget that this is Valve we're talking about, so a good sequel is easily possible, so don't knock it off just yet, anyone else and it'd be possible to do that...but with Valve it's easily possible that it's another shining gem of a game

Yahtzee has been kinder to Valve titles more than other brands because they actually put some heart into their work and leave the cookie cutter to Activision. Portal 2 probably wont be perfect but Valve's rarely done wrong.
