Yatzee will soo bash Portal 2

Yahtzee complains about every game, if he reviews Portal 2 it will be no different.

he didn 't complain about portal one, which means unless portal 2 is "man's greatest creative achievement and the cure for at least one type of cancer" he will "saw its balls off".

I don't take advice from him. I just watch his videos for the occasional laugh and the general summery of the game.

I like Brawl (not as much as Melee mind you but whatever) and that opinion comes from my experience playing it.

Too many people are sheep, declaring something is not worth buying because Yahtzee ragged on about it.

Yahtzee will most likely praise P2 for that has he said in one of his reviews that he hates Portal fanboys and the cake meme because fanboys created it out of nearly nothing.

I agree with this guy. Excitement (or skepticism) over a game before it's out is one thing, but let's not make rash speculation before we've even played any kind of demo of the game over who's going to like it or not.

Yatzee will soo bash Portal 2, there is no way in hell that he will not find tons of stuff to pick on.
Here's a list of things i think will definately be mentioned:

-Due to incresed lenght and complexity he will b*tch about it getting too difficult, boring or repetitive.
-The humor will not compare to that of the first one, unless they bring back the cake meme (ok, ok this part has nothing to do with yatzee, i just thought it was fun so I added this line, of course the cake would be one of the first things he'd pick on ).
-The fact that the same caracter is used despite the fact that more than a hundred years have passed.
-Random other not-really-important game aspects like how some wall tile is a little more color saturated than another or how Chell's leg bracers make her look like a victim from the movie SAW.

Oh and he will probably be dissapointed about the still nonincandescent-titless portal gun

However these are just my thoughs on the matter, what do you think ?

You are aware he bashes EVERY game right (even the ones he supposidly likes)? No need to point out the obvious.

He like Portal and that was essentially the same thing done for the course of 3 hours, so no reason for him not to like the gameplay in this one. The humor seems to still be present from a look at the Trailer and if he has nothing left, I'm sure he'll probably make fun of the design of the game.

Apart from Wii Sports resort which yahtzee loved he has bashed every game

although i just watched the dark void reveiw and while giving it a good solid bash he still praised it for its good points

and thats what his reveiw of portal 2 (if he does it) he will bash the bad and praise the good (if there is any)


on a side note some of the new puzzel peices in Portal 2 look awesome!!!

Then they pull the rug from under us, and we embark on a fourteen or more hour trek through imagination and physics breaking the likes of which no sane person can ever imagine!

Yahtzee is not a game critic. He's someone that makes comedy about games. Thats why it's better when he reviews a bad game or at least has a bad experience with the game. It's sad though that so many people take his rants to heart and miss out on so many good games. I've played many of the games he's reviewed and found some real gems.

I mean, look at how many people don't play Demon's Souls because Yahtzee complained about it, and it's really really awesome. The only game Yahtzee reviewed that I have to agree with him on is Dark Void, which was admittedly pretty bad...although it was just missing something.

My thoughts exactly, though I personally didn't care for Demons Souls too much. I watch Yahtzee for entertainment, not for an actual review. If I want a good review from people that aren't nearly as biased, I'll go to IGN. Not Gamespot. Lord no, not Gamespot.

Haha yeah I just ask my friends and read people's comments online. Yahtzee actually gives an interesting look into how the game is, so he's still usable as a way to see if a game is something you might like or not. Demon's Souls gets much MUCH better right at the point that Yahtzee gives up, but I wouldn't have even heard of it if it weren't for him.

I thought that's the whole point of his reviews, that he complains about them? Isn't that kinda the whole appeal of them? Anyway I have no idea what he'll say, I haven't seen the demo or anything yet

Of COURSE he's going to bash Portal 2. DUH! He bashes almost every single game he does a review on, ESPECIALLY sequels. Yes, he said the original was near perfection, but considering he points out the flaws in every other game, and rarely says a game is any better than "Ok", anybody who thinks he's going to say the sequel is as good as the original needs to take some classes in pattern recognition.

Even your complaints don't make any sense... how about we not judge until we've played it and not judge Yahtzee until we've seen his review... no one knows, though it does seem like Yahtzee to act like he hates it even if he doesn't.

I dunno, it does kind of make sense that he'd judge it extra harshly cause the first one impressed him so much. But I have a lot better things to do than worry about what a reviewer I don't personally know may or may not say about a game that hasn't been released yet and will probably have a shitty ps3 port just like every other Valve game.
