Been banned from Guild Wars for using the character name 'Poop Corn' (and, well... I was on a roll in Random Arena's, pissed off some bad players in there when I told them that it's smarter to go after the enemy monk first instead of the warrior).
It only lasted 3 days, and after whining a bit on the forums, I actually managed to get the name back. Haven't been banned since.

Oh. And during Red Orchestra, as a sniper. Had a ridiculously high score (as in, I had 140, the second highest had 12). Someone on the server asked me how to kick people, I told him how to. Next thing I know, I get booted.


Hrm. I seem pretty damn arrogant in this post. Please don't think of me as a person who likes bragging. When I suck at a game, I don't get banned, simply. When I'm actually good/decent at it, people already accuse me of cheating. You guys have all probably experienced it at least once in your lives.

Got a 3-day ban from the Halo 3 forums for linking to hooked-on-phonics' website because of a run-on sentence with no punctuation,no capital letters, and no grammatical structure whatsoever... Kids really need to go to school.

Except for when I used to play AdventureQuest, (I am ashamed to say...) and I posted a question about how I should build my character. Apparently, my form wasn't what they accepted, dispite the fact that I did follow their little "rule" thread. The killer thing was that I was slapped with a ban, and the post was removed in less than 30 seconds after I posted it...
I only fear for the mod's blood pressure, in that situation.

Got banned from a forum for spam, when I didn't spam at all. Got selectively banned again for the same reason (they banned a bunch of random people me included). And most recently, I've gotten banned again for "bye". Aside from that, I've never been banned anywhere else.

I got banned from a guild because they shut down the guild and banned everyone first. Which I thought was kind of dumb, but what ever. But that's all I ever got banned for.

Never been banned on any games or forums. But as some else mentioned I'm banned from a local bar. Got jumped in a completely different bar by a jealous ex-husband. He ran an hid for a few months since I pressed charges and he had a warrant out for assault. Then he decided to show up at a dart tourney our league was having. I was Vice President of the league at the time so I was there supporting the league and he walks in. Guess he had heard from other people I wouldn't do anything. Well I called the police to come arrest him. The owner of the bar was upset that I brought the cops into her bar and banned me for life. And the wanted criminal is still welcome.

Banned from a C&C Renegade Server. I killed the Host, who had decided that sticking C4 to the back of my head was funny. Joke was on him. I play in third person. Ran up behind him after he ran off, and took him with me.

Before I got my faster internet connection I kept getting kicked off of BF2 servers because my ping was too high, and that was because I refused to take my settings down from the highest. Then I got better internet and I get to play BF2 (relatively) fast and with supergraphics.

I've been kicked and banned for bring up sensitive topics in x-rated chat rooms. Yes. It's very possible to do.

There was one incident where I got booted for pointing out a homophobic rule, but that was just such a load of shit anyway I don't count it.

Can you give us any other examples? Not to be perverted, but I just want to see what other decent topics got you banned.

Oh and, I got banned from the escapist one day for calling someone a 'wanker'.
Fortunately for me, I was away that day and didn't notice I had been banned until 3 days later when I decided to check my messages.

I got a three-day probation right here at the Escapist for cursing out Juandode. But, I'm roud to say I've made a full recovery! Now I never swear anymore, and I'll shank any fucker who says otherwise.

-Creating a thread about Ninja, with a poll about voting for PurpleRain in the election, and the poll was one sided, and instead of an actual opening statement it just had (no text)

(both of these were misunderstandings on the part of the mods, as no harm was intended in either case, though I can't speak for Root, he might well have been offended, sorry Root)

So far this proposed ban hasn't taken place, which is both a releif and a worry, especially now that I posted it here, since a wayward mod might chance apon it and say "I say! That fellow hasn't been banned for that yet, I shall see to it now!"

I didn't know it could happen, but I got banned from my free WoW trial. Damn peer pressure. I have had fun with the screen caps though.
As for our treasured escapist by my count just the once for joining in a huge post pyramid before the hole sinking quote thing. I take pride in pointing out a flaw and not helping to fix it. (7 hole days for that)

ive personally was banned in maple story for hacking and runescape for swearing but i had admins in both games that fixed it all up i have not since played those games

i got inspiration for this thread from being put on probation fyi
and it doesnt have to be a game ive been temp banned from the library for being too loud once.

I was banned from the Escapist for a while from laughing at a joke someone said about a kid killing himself because of Halo

I got a warning in WoW for talking about eating babies in Barrens Chat, and another for spamming Shatt with the lyrics to the Warcraft Disco song

I was banned from Runescape once (back in the day. waaaaaaaaaay back.)
I tried to do a drop trade, a quest sword for 10,000. Turns out quest items are invisible to everyone but you. He reported me. I got banned for a week. Never played again.

Otherwise, I try not to get banned, here I don't really know specific guidelines for being banned, so I'm cautious.

I've also been kicked from a TF2 server because I had to leave so I spammed "Need a Dispenser Here!" as a Scout for a full minute. People got PISSED.
