Mirror's Edge. One jump to the helicopter and he's dead. I did harder things midgame!
The true final boss (in my eyes) is the server room. Screw that twat with the machine gun. Screw him.
For me it was the place with the elevator at the end of the room guarded by two machine gun guys. Try doing that without hurting anyone.
I have done it while only jump attacking the machine gunner. It takes some sideways thinking, a ton of wall running and a few tries.

Yeah, but... kneeing the Pope in the balls? That has to be worth sacrificing a boss fight for.

I thought Mass Effect's boss battle was alright. Not great, although I'm not a huge fan of bosses anyway, but it was fairly challenging, and somehow seemd to work after that epic final mission. Mass Effect 2's was pretty epic looking, but a piece of piss to beat.

Going back a bit further, True Crime: Streets of LA (if anyone remembers that game) had some pretty good boss fights. I especially remember fighting a rogue North Korean general on the roof of a skyscraper, or alternatively in the flaming wreckage of a crashed plane.

Max Payne 2. After you get past the whole puzzle part of it, all you have to do is just continuously pump lead into Vlad's chest. He can't even move when you shoot him, so using an automatic weapon will surely kill him quickly without any sort of retaliation.

It's not even difficult on Dead on Arrival mode, just takes more bullets to enter his chest before he realizes that his vital organs have turned into Swiss cheese.

Mass Effect 2.
At first I thought, holy shit, how am I going to kill this? But then when the second phase of the fight starts and I had to shoot the "weak points"...it was a bit lame. But I guess Minsc was right. GO FOR THE EYES!

Personally, the fight with the Empire at the end of Perimeter would qualify, as would Commander Soren from Section 8.

As much as I love Half-Life, there has never been a good Half-Life boss, besides Striders. Ever.
I agree with this up to a point, there really hasn't been a good -biological- boss in Half-Life i.e. a living enemy, but they always have climactic end-games take in Half-Life 2 (Spoiler) when you must disable the Citadel's core from the inside with your ultra powerful gravity gun.
Nah, I always thought that that one didn't count. You never actually *fight* it, and that's what counts for me.
Oh,well yeah, that was awesome.
I thought there were some good bosses in the original half life. Remember that huge three armed tentacle horn stabbing monster you have to destroy with the test fire? That was a pretty epic boss! I agree with you on Half Life 2, though. Pretty lame.

personaly in Fracture the last boss was too easy, all you had to do was waste all your ammo on some wierd rocks and then a single melee punch would kill the boss

Halo 3: floating orb of failure.
Bioshock: Braggy wimp who tries to look tough.
Silent Hill Homecoming: Menacing giant pregnant 6 boobed armless spring loaded face mechanical spider with hospital blades. Menacing, but weak.
Condemned 2: Bloodshot: Weak pale skinny emo police officer with metal spikes sticking out of his back.
Quake 4: The minions were tougher than the boss, I only had to restart because I had to blow something up after killing him and got hit in the face with 4 rockets from a minion.
Doom: Anthropormic brain on metal spider legs who only takes 2-5 BFG blasts to die.

FFVII's final boss was too easy. You could not attack at all and still win.
Can you explain to me how FFVII's boss was easy?? Besides putting on all possible counter materia with KOTR and preemptive strikes, you cannot get what you claim. And even so that takes hours upon hours of training and collecting.

OT: My whine goes towards Fallout 3, because the 'final boss' more or less was a common fight, really.
When you're fighting him alone, and you're supposed to use the limit. You could do nothing and you'll just counter and kill him.

i dont care if anyone said it before me, Fable 2. Ratchet and clank 3, that big stransformer wannabe is just way to easy compared to dr nefarious. and assasin's creed 2 the fight in the end with no weapons, two words: Grab Punch. and Infamous, Kessler is just a let down.

i like all those games a lot.

Demon's Souls

Seriously, after all that you make me fight that weak ass mud monster?

Guy playing here is dealing terrible damage with that sword, when I did that guy I was dealing over 500 damage with that sword.
Oh c'mon. You know that isnt really the final boss. The false king is.

I never really considered Fable 2's final boss to be a final boss, given that you didn't have to do any actual fighting.

The obvious choices would be Gears 2 and Halo 3, though I guess the original Quake could count, too, since you don't actually fight the boss, just the minions that spawn to protect him. You do, however, kill him in the most awesome way possible.

Yeah I know but I was kinda hoping for an awesome fight against the old one instead of some turd monster.

Shuyin FFX-2, I mean come on I only got to hear 20 seconds of the final boss theme

Yu Yevon FFX - You can't even die!

Sephiroth FFVII - He's just so... bad...

Saruman LOTR TTT - I just beat... 20 f**king levels of your Sh** and you don't even fight me!

Necron FFIX - First try he was a piss-take but then second try onwards. He's a f**king nightmare! And he comes out the blue!

Lazaravich Uncharted 2 - Among Thieves - No scary transformation or anything, just a pissed off Russian guy... and you shooting blue balls coming out of the walls...

Battlefield Bad Company 2. Yes, I know, shooters like this don't really have 'bosses' most of the time, but the whole last level was weak. I found it to be the easiest level in the game, even the hardest difficulty, and the big bad in the game dies in extremely non-dramatic fashion. I didn't much care for the campaign overall, but I was at least hoping for a nice finish.

Quake 2 was the first time I hit a final boss where I beat it first time without dying on the hardest difficulty. I remember reloading the level and trying again to make sure I didn't accidentally glitch my way to victory... and, no, he was just that sad.

Far Cry's final boss was a major anti-climax (one shot kill with any weapon), but it was hot on the heels of one of the most brutal levels I have ever played. I actually thought that was kind of cool though.

That was only the final stage of it. It was otherwise epic was it not. 5 of you, verses him. I only wish I could have stolen his damn staff....
