Hmm... Let's see...
I could say Superman 64...
I could say CoD...
I could say Halo...
I could say Madden...
I guess I'll say Madden. I've never really liked sports games; without the original, how could they have a series that helped popularize the genre? And, besides, without Superman 64, ProtonJon couldn't be making his awesome Let's Play of it. Without CoD and Halo, would FPS games really have evolved to the stage that they're at now, with games like Team Fortress 2?

But surely this Cosmic Owl is a reasonable fellow. I'd like to talk with him sometime.

anyone who says MW2 or Black Ops is just someone who thinks it's cool to hate popular things. For someone to say that MW2 is the worst video game ever made, it just makes them look like an idiot... I could name well over 100 games that are worse than MW2 and Black Ops...
Not necessarily. I don't hate Modern Warfare 2 because its popular, I don't even hate it. But it is not the best game on the market, and everyone treats it like it is. Most of its fan base is douchebags who are "HARDCORE!!!!" or prepubescent children who scream obscenities. The story was stupid and criminally short while the multiplayer was frequently filled with exploiters/cheaters.
did not care for MW2...but I did like the plot to Black Ops...

I vote Madden NFL because professional football is even more bloatedly over consumeristic than Christmas.

My girlfriend says Halo because she thinks there are better first person shooters and that Halo's claim to fame is simply massive over hyping.

I was torn between inFamous and C&C4 for all of 5 seconds. C&C4 could have been a decent game if it had just not been called C&C4 and thus been subject to the expectations of countless fans of the series who were disappointed in not only the gameplay changes, but also the absolutely terrible handling of the end of the Tiberuim saga. Make it the start of a new IP, or just make it a C&C spin-off, and I figure that people's reactions would have to be less harsh, at least.
inFamous, on the other hand, is just outright awful, and they can't help it out by calling it something else. The only thing to do with this absolutely terrible piece of garbage is to wipe it from the face of the earth.

So yeah. inFamous, I'd say it was nice knowing you, but that would be a lie. Every second I spent playing you was torture. Now GTFO.

I'm gonna do EVERYONE a favor and get rid of Final Fantasy 14. The game is probably going to end up KILLING Square Enix. I personally don't like FF games to begin with, but 14 is just PAINFUL to look at in terms of coding. Even most of the FF fans here will not argue this one...but just in case *Shields up*.
Hey, if you want to do us a favor, let FF14 continue to exist. If it did end up killing Square Enix, that would be a much greater thing for gaming than getting rid of one crappy MMO.

i agree with the person on the first page who said farmville.
if possible can anything created by zynga and zynga it self be wiped off the face of the earth too.
me reason for hating zynga is I played mafia war at a little while until i got out of the game and fully realized every game they make is all the the same repetitive bullshit and when i saw the extra credits skinner box episode it got me to hate it more

Combat Evolved. It was the precursor to the sick focus of first person multi-player shooters that have saturated today's game market. Sure, MW2 may have elevated it to super mass appeal crack, but without the first Halo game, maybe games with a little more substance would get some attention.

If you say the first Call of Duty game, logically speaking the others would cease to exist because you can't make sequels to a game that doesn't exist.

OT: I'm going to say Halo so that FPS games will stop being generic and shit. I know people will disagree, but so what? Maybe with this, we'll get some moderately interesting FPS games.

Aside from that... Hm... probably Sonic 2006 because it's story even removes itself from the Sonic-Series canon. Ergo, it doesn't have any reason to exist except to exemplify how to never make a Sonic game.
How did Halo make FPS's generic? It was a sci-fi shooter against an alien force with several different alien races and you played as a super soldier. You may be thinking of Call of Duty, you know, gunmetal grey corridor #742?

Well (and I do like Halo before you read this) Halo did set the bar for many FPS's later. Now every game was becoming about badass soldiers fighting off aliens, or whatever. Many people blame the game for generic shooters now...but yeah.

Halo

Now hear me out here.

If Halo didn't exist, there would not have been such a huge pop culture push and we wouldn't have all those CoD and Fps clones, we would have more games like Infamous and Ico.

Halo was a bland game that got way too much public attention and money.

I guess that makes a little sense but I'd blame Call of Duty.

Dude, Halo's Library level is the definition of "gunmetal grey corridor #742." Or maybe it was some other color, but the point is that Halo has one of the worst "let's make the player go through the same copy/pasted area over and over and over so we can clock out early tonight" levels in the history of any popular first person shooter, and trying to defend Halo by saying other games make you fight in samey corridors makes no sense.

Like inFamous? You want to get rid of boring, bland, and uninspired first person shooters so you can have more boring, bland, and uninspired third person shooters? That doesn't make any sense either.

Call of Duty 4, not necessarily a bad game but it started a trend of the most profitable games being uncreative military shooters with a focus on realism. Getting rid of it from history would prevent the following military shooters form being over rated.

Ug, my smug senses are tingling. Honestly I wouldn't really wanna get rid of a game just 'cuz I don't like it, because someone does, and I'd just be a dick taking that enjoyment away from them. That being said, if I could erase a game from existence, It'd probably be Rapelay; the people who'd play that game don't deserve to enjoy that.
