Never got married in Skyrim, or used a compantion for that matter.
For two reasons actually;

First, for the only time a companion was worth a damn was during my first play through. After i got the hang of it she got demoted to mule and later not used at all.

Second, the only one i was remotely interested in was that saphire chick in Riverwood, at least i think that was her name. Never did found out if i could.

Well this is certainly news to me.
This :D

Marriage is Skyrim is just so poorly thought out and tacked on, and I never use companions because they just get in the way :D
I play the same as both of you. Never used companions because they were more of a hinderance than they were helpful, and I never bothered with marriage because it's pointless.

I married her because she's the only person in Skyrim who doesn't have a problem with Kahjiits

I mean I'm the fucking Dragon Born! I should get some fucking respect!

I married Breyla (the dark elf girl at the mages college who turns you into a horse). Mostly because I was an Argonian and anyone who doesn't like it can go fuck themselves. I also bought the mansion in Winterhold just to stir up more trouble

I married the Breton lady from the potion shop in Markarth. She had already utilized my services for a Dark Brotherhood quest so I figured she had already seen me at my worst. The only times I ever saw her following the ceremony were for my 2 minute stops at the mansion to drop off loot. What a loveless marriage.

Seriously, why do we all marry Ysolda? I always liked her because she's ambitious, friendly, and helpful. She has dreams and she chases them.
... who's Ysolda?

I married Brelyna Maryon. Because she's a sexy Drow Mage.

But seriously, I don't recall any companion named Ysolda.

Also Off Topic: Why would ANYONE side with Ulfric? Ew.
I second that. People always act confused when I say I killed Ulfric. I was an Argonian and my people aren't allowed inside the walls of your city? Fuck. You. Then his naked corps sat next to his old throne for all eternity after I fus ro da'ed his ass

I never found anyone who I could ask. The option never existed.
Companions constantly stood in my arrows line of fire and got killed by me and were completely useless.
They might be good for a "High speech, low offense for-whatever-reason" character.

I married some random housecarl just to get the cheevo, then I shot him full of arrows.
I would do this.
Divorce is always a messy thing anyway.

If I bothered to get hitched on any of my many characters, Ysolda was usually the perfect choice. I like her voice actor (she sounds so sweet), she's pretty much one of the first marriable NPCs you get access to early in the game, and she's one of the few female NPCs in the game that look like they weren't beaten half to death with an ugly stick.

My Dunmer assassin married Ghorbash the Ironhand, since it seemed like that was only choice that would provide the right kind of sexual satisfaction for him. Gay orc sex for the win!

I think my other characters are all unmarried. My old legionnaire character would like to marry Adelaisa Vendicci (from the East Empire company) but I don't think she's able to be married. Too bad, they'd be a perfect couple.

you know that khajiit is the only race that doesn't have a female marriage partner? iirc, at least. but the differences inhuman types arent so drastic that it would require an optionfor each, but as a cat, i should be able to marry a goddamned cat.

I married Camilla.
Hey, if Sven and Faendal are fighting over her, what better way to end the feud than to take her from both of them?
Was a little awkward when both of them showed up to the wedding though.

I never marry anyone in skyrim, they're probably just going to end up dead anyway, don't want to have to deal with that. I also only use mod companions, that way if they get killed I can just...

First character married Jordis the Sword-Maiden, basically because she's a nice version of Lydia. I like Lydia but she's a stroppy cow. Jordis was probably a bit too much of a simpering goodwife, though she was good to have as a companion.

Second character married Sylgja, the mining woman from Shor's Stone. She struck me as a tough sort and I did manage to see her swing a pickaxe at a bandit when threatened. She's similar to Jordis but isn't a useable companion. She's okay really, but to be honest I met her mother and she's way cooler. I'd have married her if I had the chance.

Marriage in Skyrim is pretty pointless though.
