You Ever Embarrassed to Tell Someone You are a Gamer?

I used to be, but as I grew up I realised that if someone wishes to judge me upon an activity I like to do with some of my free time then chances are they aren't worth any time at all, and odds are in favour of them being unsatisfied and unhappy with their lives due to them desiring to artificially "enhance" theirs by dogging someone else's. Much like a console fanboy dogs the opposing hardware - in an effort to constantly edify their decision.

I've been with many "playing games is a waste of time" type people, only to have them turn around and piss 5 hours in the bin watching X Factor and now have grown quite bored of such hypocritical thinking.

I wouldn't advertise it, more to do with my character not advertising anything about myself, but like anything else if prompted I won't lie or shy away.

Is there some sort of stigma attached to video games that I'm unaware of? My mind just can't comprehend why anyone would be embarrassed to admit that they play them.

I'm from Australia and have never felt like a pariah due to my fondness for video games. Perhaps the culture in other places is less forgiving?

Well I never have to tell anyone because everyone already assumes that I am...
