Metal.

Despite a lot of people thinking it's very simple or only has one sound, it's very diverse and there are so many great metal bands that have incorporated different sounds to it all.

Plus, there are so many different sub genres to it.

Prog, alt, punk, rap, industrial, melodic, death, thrash...

Hard, I like lots of things: metal, rock, zombie hip hop, modern Japanese percussion, certain streams of classical, a bit of alternative, a snifter of progressive, a smidgen of electro...

Aw hell, in the end, both on my computer and in my CD-rack, it's Metal which reigns supreme.

Even more so since I read that Stoner Rock isn't seen as a subgenre of rock, but rather a subgenre of metal!

Time to put on some Monster Magnet. I'm gonna ride the Monolithic 4-Way Diablo like the King Of Mars through the Crop Circles while standing on the edge of a Silver Future waiting till the Spine Of God Says No. :)

Metalcore. Like August Burns Red or All That Remains. And some metal.
I like some metalcore, but hate when they scream, because they always over-do it.

Anyway, all types of metal except death and black, and selected hard rock, punk, etc.

Metal, metal, and more fucking metal. Melo-death is my favorite of it's sub-genres. But really, most sub-genres will do. Heavy, black, industrial, nu, death, -core, you name it.

That's not to say I don't enjoy other genres. I still enjoy rock, country, electronica, pop, rockabilly, and anything done well.

Rock, and almost all the subgenres of it.

I cant understand people who listen to death metal and that stuff. It just sounds boring some guy screaming in the mic.

As long i live, i go around with Stuff like this. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JzWYQbY2R0&feature=related]

Ever heard of "Heaven shall Burn"?

Though hard to define, one of the most awesome bands.

Rock and alternative I suppose, I?m not good with differentiating genres.
Most the music I have is classed as "metal" according to my IPod.

Progressive rock (it never died!)/ Classic Rock
e.g: Rush, Genesis, Marillion (fish era), Jethro Tull, Crowded House and (dare I say it) Dire straits.

oh yeah and Indie/vaguely folkish alterna-Rock like Modest mouse and Arcade fire.

Now let me finish on this note; You're never to young or hardcore to appreciate a litte Steely Dan : )

Steely Dan is one of the most underated bands of all time. It's the type of jazz where I want to smoke three packs of cigarettes while sipping on some whiskey.

OT: I mainly listen to country rock such as Drive-by-Truckers and Lucero.
