1000000 people seems really unwealdly.... havent a clue what game to make, but im sure it would end up rubbish because of the huge dev team
...JUST DROP THE THING WITH THE SIZE OF THE TEAM...

Here I'll start you off. A giant world of map filled with bunnies. You go around stabbing them...

On you go, get cracking. I expect an AAA game in the next 30mins...

*starts timing*
A Combo game, part RTS, part RPG part FPS/TPS, set in the napoleonic/steampunk era, a commander tasks his forces composed of other players around the world conquering the world, yeah, awesome, thousands of players fighting with others commanding. yeah, awesome, and aliens

For the 5 people who have played Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

Remember how awesome it is? Well now imagine that in an open world, a whole city, with loads of sidequests. You have to feed regularly, upholding the masquerade, make sure you're indoors by sunrise. Essentially just like Bloodlines, but with better combat, brilliant visuals and the dark humour we came to love.
oh god yes! :D loved that game... i have it.. somewhere..

also.. the dark humor ^^ loved to make the insane vampire xD

That's why you cherry-pick them before anything goes into production. Anyone who's not up to snuff for the real deal is either fired, or relegated to some busywork side project.

A game in which you create cakes, that then turns into real cakes for the player to eat. Of course the player would be able to make other stuff than cake, but cake is just that great.

convert the world wide web into a first person sandbox game, imagine the conversion of flame wars into actual wars, and 4 chan being a dreaded place where only the savage can survive.
great empires would rise and crumble just as fast.
seriously, can't write this stuff better.

A game where earth is recreated in exact detail, featuring the models and voices of every person and animal alive, and you get tools of destruction to do whatever you want to whoever/wahtever you want.

Murder Mystery/Conspiracy Theory game + some superpowers a'la TV series Heroes. It would feature 5 playable character, each with their own story AND gameplay (for example one of the characters would have more of a shooter-like gameplay, someone else would be more stealthy and someone else would have an outright survival game [but with villains instead of zombies]). It would have a whole lotta choices, meetings with other playable character during different circumstances depending on your play, and billions of possible ending (exaggeration of course). Bonus feature would let you set one of your characters line of decisions based on your playthrough with him after you beat the game, so you can build up your original story outcome after beating the game with every character.

At least that's my dream concept of a game. Shame it will never happen.

I'd make a good zombie game. A really good zombie games would probably be along the lines of "The Walking Dead" in terms of atmosphere but probably built more like a Fallout game without the V.A.T.S system(as fun as it is to use). By that I mean that it would be focused on the player(s)/friendly NPCs not the zombies as the core enemy but instead the real enemy: Time. I say this because no matter how good you are you are going to die in the end and the survivors story is basically a fight for a little more time because they all know that they are going to die in the end one way or the other. Also it might feel borderline "Silent Hill"-ish because Japanese horror would fit better for it. American horror is fun and all, but it's wrong for a really good zombie game. Games like "Left 4 Dead" are fun, but misses the most important feeling of the zombie apocalypse, namely the desperation (because you could pick up full ammo drops every 10 minutes at the most) and the sense that you are truly alone in the world (no military coming or last minute chopper). Hell, I would go so far as to say that it would have to be a sandbox game because even the end of a liner level would be a kind of like the last minute chopper because it would give the sense of safety. The struggle against the zombies is ultimately a fight of desperation and every zombie game I've played has completely missed that point.

Other things I should mention for the game:
1) I would make a decent difficulty curve. (I.e. it would actually be hard)
2) The zombies would die when you destroyed the brain.
3) No background story. (I.e. no evil conspiracy or shadowy business man)

I have thought of about 50 other things for it but that would get overwhelming to write. What I wrote here is the most important part of it.

I'd make an MMO... but not in a videogame. If I can afford a million man crew, I can afford things like a large island/body of land, robot animals to hunt, etc., etc. Think World of Warcraft: the Theme Park. I bet some people would never leave.

Mirror's Edge 2, since the people who should actually be developing that game are NEVER going to do it.

Mirror's Edge was a such a good game to me. I got it on a fluke, just because I liked the fact that there was a girl on the cover, and it turned out to be a lot of fun. I didn't really notice the short length (but I don't really have the time to sit down and play games hour after hour, sadly) and certainly dying repeatedly and having a few rage-quits elongated the play time. But even the trial and error gameplay wasn't a deal breaker for me. Dying repeatedly was easily forgiven by the satisfaction that came with finally pulling off the section successfully. I'm also not easily frustrated.

I don't know. I could go on forever. The point is, Mirror's Edge is definitely one of my favorite games. And I believe that, for all those people who thought it was flawed, what better way that to fix those flaws than in a (tah-dah!) sequel? Cause even those people who had their niggles still thought it was a good game!

Come on DICE. Come on EA. You probably HAVE these hypothetical funds. Make Mirror's Edge 2 dammit!
