The ability to amp up one of my natural abilities for a short while.

Like making myself much stronger for a few hours, or making myself super smart for a few hours, or faster, etc.

Could be very handy.

EDIT: Or the power to quicksave and quickload in real life. That would be freakin AWESOME!

If you could have a power that make your life easier and/or more comfortable, but it could not be actively used to fight/commit crime etc. what would it be?
America.

...OOOOOOH. I thought you meant POLITICAL superpower. My bad.

OT: Write-o-vision, the ability to write on paper using eye lasers.

Change my hair at will. Style, color, length, etc. Then I wouldn't have to worry about wigs for cosplaying and focus solely on the costume aspect.
I raise you shapeshifting! I may not be allowed to use it to fight/commit crimes, but extra strength for moving stuff? Yes please! Extendo arms for reaching? Yup! Have the preferred body type for a potential mate (should I ever want to have sex)? Yup!

I guess it depends on what the 'line in the sand' limitations are. I mean, could I use shapeshifting to make muscle and then fight? Or can I use my shapeshifting to make myself susceptible to muscle gain, and then use that? Or do I need to put on muscle in my current form and fight like that? I mean, if you can shapeshift, then isn't everything you are an extension of your power? So does it just mean that you can't fight ever, or does it mean that you can't shapeshift after the fight begins, or to prepare for the fight, so I could shapeshift into a dragon, fly around, get into a fight, and then fight as a dragon?

I mean, if you can shapeshift, then you have no static shape, so you are whatever you make yourself. So if I shapeshift into someone twice my height, then I am that 'someone'. Shapeshifting is the process, not the end result, so if you were to isolate a crime/fight as an 'event' (starting with 'preparing for it', followed by 'the actual thing', and finished with 'the conclusion/clean-up') then does that mean I can't shapeshift mid-fight/crime, or deliberately shapeshift to be better suited towards a fight I am entering into? Can I only shapeshift after the entirety of the event, so if I committed a crime, I couldn't shapeshift to hide my identity?

This limitations thing does not work well with shapeshifting, because either it just doesn't work, or it is more practical than the OP wants it to be.
See, that's why I didn't pick shapeshifting if the catch is that the super power is supposed to be useless for crime fighting/making. What can I do with changing hair? Tie up evil doers? Defeat Green Lantern by making myself a blond?
The way I interpreted the scenario was that you had a superpower, but were unable to use it for combat/crime purposes. So someone could be omnipotent, but they wouldn't be allowed to use their powers to commit crimes or fight people.

Shapeshifting has the problem of being a transitional power. After you've shifted, you are no longer using your power, so in theory, you could be a shapeshifter, and use the forms to commit crime/fight people, because the forms themselves aren't the power, the act of cahnging into them is.

So I'd stick with shapeshifting and have my 'neutral form' be battle-competant, and if that form isn't enough, then there is no rule about using a superpower to not fight/commit crime. So while shapeshifting is completely over powered for this thread, it can still follow the rules.

The ability to learn quickly.

Not exactly going to do much for crime or crime-fighting, but if I can master things much more quickly, it would make pretty much all of life better.
That would be awesome. I'm picking that.

Several times.

The power to set 'save points' in my life such that if I wished consciously to, became unable to wish consciously to (e.g. permanent coma/stroke/brain damage etc) or died, I could rewind my life to that point with the full knowledge of what happened (well, from my perspective). This of course could be very useful ala Groundhog Day, acting as a kind of precognition.

Though of course it'd be nice to be able erase/partially erase these memories if something truly shocking occurs.
That would be a useful superpower. Did you read the title?
Fair enough. Hmm..I read it in a book somewhere, but how about the ability to always have ~10 dollars equivalent of the local currency on you. e.g. you spend $10 on something like a meal and then you reach into your pocket again and you've got another $10 that wasn't there previously.

I dont have alot of money for clothes, and alot of the pants I own are a bit too long for me and so I walk on them and the leg bottoms get destroyed. As well as other occasional tears and stuff.

That hair control thing sounds pretty neat. The ability to control hair length? Awesome! I've had long and short hair, but I miss the long and I can't have it that way during work. :/ I've also had a mullet and I do miss it just for the sake of looking like Ziggy Stardust.

Then again, there's always invisibility. With that... You could have so much se- Umm. I mean... You could see things not meant for your eyes. Yeah, that's it. Hmm. It would need to come with the ability to not be sensed by others in the room unless you're in direct contact with them.

Then again, again is time control. If I had hair control or invisibility (or both) though, I wouldn't mind not having that. :)

The ability to control fish, but only while on land. You would never go hungry! Just command the fish to beach themselves and reap the rewards.
