Being an Aussie, I am familiar with NZ. Beautiful country, nice people. Only I am a bit down on Kiwis cause they beat us in a cricket test match for the first time in 20 years. Pretty greedy I say after winning the rugby world cup and all. Slow down chaps, your sheep need tending ;-)

Of course I know of New Zealand. For one, one of my housemates is from there, and for two I'm Welsh and so follow international rugby union fairly closely.

All that I know about New Zealand is that:

1- The countryside environment is very close to that of the UK (similar mostly to Wales, and the north of England.)
2- The Aboriginals of New Zealand (The Maori) like to stick their tongues out to greet one another.
3- Rugby is you're religion.
4- Games over there are fucking expensive, and even more so than Australia.
5- You're accents are weird, almost a cross of American/English with a bit of Aussie on the side. I used to have a New Zealand teacher and I would laugh my head off when she said the word Black, it would be like "Brr...lack".
6- Oh, and the Naked and Famous, who I have seen at a festival a couple of months back. There were so many New Zealand flags at that gig, so I swear some of them are more patriotic than most Americans are.

It was where LotR was filmed, it's a member of the Commonwealth, and it's one of the few countries with a person-to-sheep ratio higher than Wales.

I remember going through something about your country in History class but can't remember what -.-
One of the many countries to join the EU in 2004.

Island to the south east of my country. Great holiday destination.
When you live in Australia, you should know about New Zealand.

Well I'm dutch (other side of the world) and I'm going to New Zealand next month so yeah I know it. For explanation I am going to Nz for Waitangi Day and visiting my maori friends. I am part of the only non-NZ waka crew and each year some of us go to NZ for waitangi day and to learn new hakas/songs

I am a New Zealander (and live there now) but I didn't grow up in the country.

I love it though and am a massive rugby fan (even though I watched my first game when I moved back to my country of birth to study at the age of 18).

One thing that, as someone who came from outside the culture, noticed about the Kiwi sense of humour is this: Its often very self-deprecating. We often make jokes about ourselves and how we are so small compared to everyone else. This is because we have a stronge "anti-patriotic" vibe in the country which sometimes gets into negative territory: we start to complain about our country and love putting any of our achievements down.

None of the other counties I've been to, most of which would be extremely jealous of NZ, don't do that.

A Kiwi? Come 'ere ya crazy sheep-lover!

Aussie here, of course I know about New Zealand! I don't have time to list everything (years of just being an Australian, a few holidays there and a good friend who's father originally hailed from New Zealand have ensured that) but what I will do is post this:

You get your jollies off of sheep, don't you? Like the Welsh? Or is that just a thing that people say?

You got loads of sheep and you like Rugby (what do you mean generalisation?)
You also have the hill with the strangest/longest name and it's an Island!
A big part of Lord of the Rings was filmed there due to the landscape.

AND since the Op asked to:
Anyone know something about or where Finland is??!! ;)
You're one of the penis shaped ones, right?
