I know it's an outdated concept at is, at its core, sexist. But I would agree that displaying malicious violent behaviour towards women is a bad thing, just as it is toward children or domestic animals. It's not because I beleive women to be inferior to men in any way, and if I were being shot at by a group of women, I would not hesitate to shoot back, but unmotivated attacks on girls are not something I would ever participate in.
If I'm going to get into a fight with a girl, she will be the one to start it, not me.

I'd do what I normally do, I'll try and gain physical control of the situation (whether disarming the opponent if they have a weapon or merely holding them so they can't hit me or anyone else,) be it woman or man.
I dont believe you should have to hit a woman. There's a lot of defensive fighting that enables you to defend yourself without hitting. Anyway, there are two reasons. 1) Its just not right if you want to be a gentleman or chivalrous. 2) Police, judges, anyone, will always be more sympathetic to the woman, so its not worth the hastle.

The only time I would ever hit a woman is if they were hysterical and out of control, but I'd do that to anybody. Or if she was actually trying to kill me or another person. Or if it was in the ring or something like for boxing.
Other then that.... never. Most people, let alone women, cannot take a proper punch. I would feel like I kicked the shit out of a child if I beat down a woman, even if it was a proper fight. I would probably just toss her to the ground and hold her or something, never punching back.
Although, in defense of you folks who would hit a woman... the double standard in society is rather ridiculous. It's my my personal feelings and beliefs that keep me from doing it.
