Mine is this:
I know what you're thinking ? "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But, being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

It is from the movie Dirty Harry [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirty_harry] and it's my all time favorite quote.

Write your all time favorite quote here, whether it's from a movie, a song, your mother, or god!
Provide as much info as you can about your all time favorite quote.

"You miss 100% percent of the shots you never take"

- Wayne Gretzky

Just because of how many facets of life it can be applied to.

Remember that picture whilst you are reading this quote.

Elwood: We've got 106 miles to Chicago, Full tank of gas, Half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark out and we're wearing sunglasses

Jake: Hit It!

Alrighty! I've said it before, I'll say it again. Portal spoilers, FYI
"Didn't we have some fun, though? Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire pit and I said 'Goodbye,' and you were like, 'NO WAY,' and then I was all, 'We pretended were were going to murder you.' ...That was great."

And a buddy of mine used this, and I swear to everything holy and unholy if I manage to get anything at all published I shall use it: "You may have won the battle, but you just lost the game!"

?Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary? that?s what gets you.?
-Jeremy Clarkson.

There's a metaphor to life somewhere in there.

I love you.

People say so many things that it's hard to pick a favorite quote, but here's my favorite for today:

"The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.'"

-George Carlin

"Listen up, maggots! You are NOT special. You are not a unique snowflake. You are the same decaying organic matter as everything else."

~Tyler Durden.

Come to think of it. Pretty much, every single line from that guy is my all time favorite.

I don't really have an all-time favourite quote. I could name about two hundred movie quotes I adore, as well as plenty from standup comedians.

I guess for the purposes of this thread, I would say:

"And the luge . . . what drunken German gynecologist invented that sport!? 'I want to dress like a sperm, shove an ice skate up my ass, and go balls-first down an ice chute! Ja, that would be fun!'"

I have no idea who said this, but it goes, "I may disagree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." Pretty much sums up who I am.

I expected this quote the second I saw hats and sunglasses...

I think for this thread I'll go with Winston Churchill: "The best argument against democracy is a five-minute talk with the average voter."
Not because I'm for anarchy, but because it seems more and more true. You sometimes get the impression a minimum voting-IQ might be a good idea.

Amy: I'm fine. It's just there's a whole world in here just like you said. It's all true. I thought, well I started to think that you were just like a madman with a box.

The Doctor: Amy Pond, there's something you better understand about me 'cause it's important and one day your life could depend on it: I am definitely a madman with a box.

'Although a soldier by profession, I have never felt any sort of fondness for war, and I have never advocated it, except as a means of peace.'

-Ulysses S. Grant

A great man. A man inebriated during a stretch or too, but still a great man.
