Hi,

What is your biggest disappointment after buying a game ?

Me, I wish I had not bought Warhammer 40000 : Dawn of war 2. I found this game boring as hell !

And you ?

Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly

Spells the beginning of a series of disgusting misrepresentations of one of my favourite game characters. It almost makes me hate Insomniac for allowing these people to do this.

Fable II.

I'd gotten really hyped up about how the consequences of my actions would affect the world around me, and I was expecting to see environments change the way it had been described, but, then, I found Thag's camp was constantly full of the same thieves I had beaten in the first quest and I realised it was just another game with respawning enemies.

Spyro... the first one after Insomniac sold it. I will forever mourn the sale and subsequent loss of worthwhile Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot games... :'(

Beat me to it but I fully agree with you on both points.

Mario and Luigi : Partners in Time. To me it was such a dissapointment. The first game on the GBA, Superstar Saga, was awesome, but not this one. Hopefully this newest installment will be better than the second one.

Age of Conan was a real let-down, especially after all the hype. Similar problems with Dawn of War 2.. it isn't even the same TYPE of game as the original, and has none of the aspects I liked about the game.

Eternal Sonata.

Oh the gameplay was good, pretty fresh and innovative, and I have it hard for Chopin music.

But the story

OH THE ABSOLUTELY CONTRADICTORY AND IRREVERENT STORY!

Worms: A Space Oddity

Depressingly small and inexotic inventory, few traditions of the hilarious Worms games ('cept the grunts, moans, and mildly-swearish words that make every Worms game hilarious), no Concrete Donkey, no Banana Bomb, no Holy Hand Grenade...

It was most disappointing.

Prototype, oddly enough. It had been recommended by most, and the adverts looked like it would be just the sort of thing I'd like. Got it, completed it on hard in a few hours, eventually realised the only really interesting thing about it was the free-running ability, never played it since. Extremely dull, didn't live up to my expectations.

Killzone 2 (Initially)

I had been really hyped to play this game. However, once I had it, I was extremely put-off by the control scheme. Specifically, the responsiveness of the analog sticks. Combining the huge analog stick dead-zone with the awkward turning acceleration rate, made for one of the worst first person shooter experiences I had ever had. For me, the game was almost impossible to play. (This, coming from someone who has been playing fps games since as far back as wolfenstein 3d/ultima underworld/catacomb 3-D ). I know these control implementations were intended as a way to simulate the difficulty in swinging a real weapon around (at least that's the developers take on it...), but it just did not feel right for a game.

Eventually a patch was released that completely fixed this issue. After that, I was able play right on through this great game.
