Oh yeah, another one I just had: Entering Ravenholm in Half Life 2. I was like 'Whoa, crap, what happened here? I dunno, but this place is really creepy. I'd better get this over with as fast as--WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?! AAAAAAHH!!!

I swear, when that headcrab zombie came out of NOWHERE, I was on the verge of pooping my pants.

There are 3 for me
1. Mass effect 2's ending plus the endings of the DLC's Overlord and LOTSB
2. Alan wake when you get thrown into the lake by the darkness with the flare
3. Heavy rain finger cutting scene that was so hard to watch

DA2, when you rescue your mother. Seriously didn't expect that, I was just 'WTF, why?!'

SotC: The battle against the first colossus; the sheer magnitude of the battle was awesome.
Another kind of 'holy crap' was the Agro incident. And the end game, of course.

Gitaroo Man: The battle against the skeletons, really epic. And the music is fantastic!

The confrontation in Ryan's office in Bioshock. Of course I can't say what it is because it's spoilertastic, but if you've played Bioshock (and if you haven't then what the hell is keeping you?) then you know what I'm talking about.
Yeah, where you smash his face with a golf club?
Oh, spoilers go here?

I'm gonna go with Freelancer here. The first time you see a Nomad fleet flying straight at you is like O.O

For me that bit in Dino Crisis 1 in the dying man's office
that game set out unwritten rules that while in small offices or save point rooms, dinosaurs can't spawn
so after the dying man gives you what you need, you merrily trundle around the room, checking for ammo and health paOH MY FUCKING GOD A TYRANNOSAUR HAS RAMMED IT'S HEAD THROUGH THE WINDOW AND IS TAKING UP THE ENTIRE ROOM TRYING TO EAT ME

When I got the Pulse Cannon in RFoM: 2.

My thoughts at the time : "Oh, wow, another stupid, dumb pointless gun that'll probally never get use- WHOA!!!"

I Over-Abused it for the rest of the chapter.

Fighting Gigas for the first time.
Kept wetting my bed 'till I was 15.

Going all the way back to Interactive Fiction from Infocom.

Planetfall when Floyd finds the remains of his friend the medical bot. He had been talking about him earlier and then to find the scrapped heap. It was only a few lines of text but also the greatest emotional response I have ever had for a game.

That is my biggest "Holy shit!" moment of any game ever.

Recently, though, the first time I watched the sunset on Far Cry 2 I was blown away. That was a quiet "Holy shit" moment for me.

Getting to the top of a mountain in Red Dead Redemption and just panning the camera around. I had never seen a game that had that beautiful of a view (and I'm someone who hates the outdoors).

Oh and this will date me, but playing Sonic Adventure the month before the release of the Dreamcast (Sega rep let me and my friend borrow the demo unit before they put them into TRU when he worked in electronics there and I was working at Software Etc.) and Sonics footprints stayed in the sand. It was the first console game we played that they didn't just disappear because it didn't have enough power to keep them. Not a big thing now but in 99 that was amazing to us.

I personally hated that about Jak 2 and 3.

Naughty Dog had a generally nice new set of characters with nice game mechanics, it was like a new Crash Bandicoot. Then for Jak 2 it suddenly went "right our marketing team says we need to turn Jak onto angsty teenager mode", and left us with some obscure futuristic GTA type thing.

I thought Jak 3 was a little better but I still much prefer what they had with the first game.

The nuke in MW1 just blew me away. My jaw just dropped to the floor... i did not expect that.
No game can ever recreate that feeling again...
I was totally " wait, did i not make it in time? Aah, I'm getting up, good. Wait, where's the map, and my weapon, and everything else? WTF??? What's going on??" DED.

Hooooooly shit.

Homefront has done it twice to me so far
When Hopper misfires the White Phosphorous mortar at you and you can see it heading towards, plus when your running through the fires after
and the second time is about 10mins ago when i held a 5-star threat parrot drone above the enemy spawn area fr about 5mins without getting shot down
