Canada. It's different for each province.

In Alberta, it's 18 to buy and drink.

The legal age to purchase and consume alcohol in Australia was 21, and then 18 year olds were drinking as well. So they changed the age to 18, and so now 15 year olds are drinking.

US- our drinking age is 21.

I had a beard at 14.

You can figure out where I'm going with this.

I don't think we have a legal drinking age in Denmark but you have to be 16 to buy it at the store and 18 to buy it in a bar or restaurant.

Aussie, 18. It used to be 21 back before WW2 but since then they've decided to keep it 18. To be honest, I see kids the age of 13 drunk around streets at night thinking it makes them look cool... yeah, enjoy a half-rotted brain.

This seems extremely[/i[ counter-intuitive, so say the least.

In Ireland, you need to be 18 in order to purchase alcohol both on- and off-licence. That doesn't stop most people drinking at 15, though. I think they're planning on raising the limit to 20, which could be a good idea insofar as it would more difficult for loutish adolescents to come by their liquid catalyst.

Gotta be 18 here in SA, not that it matters to some people, you get those who will try to never get drunk and those who will be stoners from the age of 12, unfortunate but true.
I'm in the first category in case you were wondering...

16 for low alcohol drinks (beer, whine, breezers etc.) and 18 for anything up to rocket fuel...

now this brings me to a problem: in europe I get served moonshine as if it were candy and when i would enter the States it would suddenly be bad for such a young innocent boy... seems quite a weird experience to me.

not a drinker though so actually dont really care

18 here in England. Their have been talks to raise it, but I hope they don't. What will us students do if we can't drink?

Doesn't matter what the drinking age is, kids are gonna drink regardless. And honestly, the worst cases of drinking comes from the older "of age" groups anyway.

Netherlands here.

16 years old: Allowed to buy beer, mix-drinks like breezer, cigarettes and cigars.
Also allowed to drink in public

18 years old: Allowed to buy strong drinks and softdrugs.

Normally you have to show your ID-card to get into bars and to buy alcohol but almost no-one asks for it. They only check with softdrugs.. but fake ID-cards are easy to get.

EDIT: i believe you have to be 16 to buy 'love' ^^

I think it's 20 here in Sweden, but since I don't drink I've never had the opportunity to find out.
