OK, how about the fact that you will be sick most of the time from a combination of STDs and regular illnesses passed along via sex? thats right most porn stars are sick the vast majority of the time. Or maybe the fact that a porn star suffers the same fate as the game tester in that you slowly become totally desensitized. You would start hating sex, wanting to do other things with your free time. The joy would slowly be lost from the act of it and you will start seeking things you never dreamt of doing just to get you back to normal. Add to that the fact that youll probably only have a short stint in it at best and after that your left with awkward nostalgia and I think you can see its not a 'dream job' at all.
Ruining sex for yourself, being ill alot, potential to get something really bad and prerequisite of physical attractiveness, energy level and mental willingness. Hows that for a better argument?
1. I am not aware that every pornstar today has STD's. As far as I know, it is a profession which carries health standards. Most major porn studios require their actors to wear condoms and take medical tests before hiring. Additionally, STD's suffered by working as a pornographer are often settled in court or covered by the production firm. I'm pretty sure that with today's awareness such notions that every pornographer is diseased are but a myth.
2. I agree that desensitization can be a true setback, and so is burnout. Desensitization, however, happens in all areas of life. We get used to everything we do normally. I, for one, am not in the pornography business and so I cannot tell you how far sex desensitization goes, or how far game desensitization goes because I'm not a gamer. If you are either, I welcome you to shed some light on the matter. What I do do a lot, I try to do moderately, and when I feel I do too much, I take a break. The issue is that when one is a professional, taking a break is not always an option, so in that respect it'd be wise for me to have other skills if I were to become a pornstar, but then, so is the case for a musician, actor, composer, painter, psychologist, doctor, writer, mathematician, etc. I've heard many stories from many people about how they had to face burnout and take a vacation, indulge in drugs, take up a hobby, or have a personally reformative experience to knock out of it. So seeing how in my experience I was exposed to many such cases from many different professional angles, I suppose we all have to ask of ourselves how we are going to handle mental fatigue. The only specific dilemma this has to do with being a pornstar is whether or not it is worth it to be desensitized to sex, or to music, or writing, etc.
3. Who knows how long my stint would be? How about Ron Jeremy's? Are you following the story of Boogie Nights too closely, there? I never said I had to be the top actor at all times, either. Perhaps what you say will be true but all you're doing is predicting the future, which without hard data is a time-wasting indulgence. You merely gave me the reason why _you_ wouldn't want to be a pornstar.
These arguments are no good. I'm still not convinced. You'll have to do better.
