Your Favorite Alien Movie

District 9 by far, I have not seen many alien movies but out of the ones of seen this is my favorite. For once the aliens dont just go around trying to kill everyone and act retarded, their afraid of what their up against and they do what they can to survive. Plus it's just a different set up for once in a while not just, alien over their, their planet sucks are planet rules, their wrong were right so fuck you.

District 9 is pretty great for most of the reasons you mentioned. However number three on my list of best films ever is still Aliens, directed by James Cameron and starring Sigourney Weaver it just kicked arse.

EDIT: Also still have to mention the recent Avatar, still not as high as District 9 and Aliens but still damn good.

For real? Says who? That is one of my favourite books ever. Please tell me that someone good is doing it. I really loved Timeline by Crichton too and all the way through the read I was thinking what a great film it would be. Boy was I wrong!

Alien.
Let's face it. It's a masterpiece in every way.
And one of the most genuinely unnerving trailers ever made.

I'm also partial to the fourth incarnation of the Alien-franchise; namely Resurrection.
It's a flawed gem, in my book. What it lacked in suspense it pretty much made up for in surreal imagery and the great transformation of the Ripley character.
I persist in saying that it's Joss Whedon's awful script which makes the film suffer as a whole.

Alien by a mile, it's one of my favourite all time movies and still the coolest looking alien of them all.

If I had to choose a second it would either be ET or Predator.
