Your Favorite Band?

I don't have a favourite band; I can't just pick one. But I'm really liking Dream Theater (as well as Liquid Tension Experiment), Nightwish and Motörhead at the moment.

when are people going to realise that popular is not the same as mainstream?

Eh, I don't know what's mainstream and what isn't. I listen to bands that I like and that's it, I really don't know if they are popular or not. Like some people have said Muse, but I thought they were pretty popular and I'm sure if I put some "obsure" band (since I might not have heard of them that much) someone will point out how practically everyone knows about them.

The one I'm sure isn't the most well known and that I like alot is They Might Be Giants. I don't listen to them quite so much anymore, but I still like to pop on one of their songs every now and then because of how fun they can be to listen too.

I like Jamey Johnson.
Easily the best artist I've ever heard, writes his own songs, and can sing with the best.

Just because they're mainstream, that doesn't diminish them. People like them for a reason.

I have nothing against you or anyone for liking mainstream bands. I like some mainstream bands myself. But the point of this thread is your favorite non-mainstream band.

fav non mainstream band? ha, I got way to many since I am a goth and black metaller and say goth from back in the 90's goth

if I got to choose one I would have to say Old Darkthrone back in the Blaze in the Northern Sky era

Specifically, what's your favorite non-mainstream band?
Mine's CLUTCH, an American Metal group. From "Transnational Speedway" to "Strange Cousins from the West", they have yet to disappoint me.

I love the song... but it seems that 75% of the time I hear it, something bad happens within two hours of me listening to it. I still listen to it, though.

Been thinking about it. Probably one of the most non mainstream bands I like is The Killers and Owl City.

My all-time favourite band is Stars. The last few days, I've only listened to stuff they play.
I also really like Modest Mouse but Stars is number one.
