I know Lemon Demon! They wrote The Ultimate Showdown Of Ultimate Destiny, Word Disassociation, and a couple other good songs
For me it would be Anti-Flag or Zebrahead

I've seen them live a few times. I think Neil is a pretty funny guy.

My favorite band that no one i know excluding one friend knows of or listens too is Electric Six and I feel like a broken record saying it because I dunno how many times I have!
These are the songs that made me start listening to them
they are quite well known... i have seen went to see them in liverpool, they where good but there last album was dire...

Flashy? I liked Flashy... but they're not as well known as most bands. None of my friend heard of them until i spread the word by mouth and they have liked a few of their songs. I guess they are getting more popular lately though.

If you like Cannibal Ox you will probably like Aesop Rock, hes signed by Def Jux as well, though a lot of people dont like him because of his lyrics, i personally love Aesop Rock i think hes a genious.
Aesop rock is pretentious hipster bull***t when it comes down to it.

I swear you couldn't move for hearing them on the radio 3 years ago or so. Saw them live, incidentally. Friend couldn't go so I bought his ticket on the cheap. They weren't very good in a technical sort of sense, but they had a good energy and I got a couple of beers in which took the edge of their repetitive nature. All in all, a fun night.

My Antidote. I know you haven't heard of them because they are kids from my high school. You can listen to them on their MySpace page.

Lets see here...

The ones I can think of off the top of my head are heavy metal bands Skid Row and Mudvayne.

It makes me happy that so many people have said TV On The Radio- they're one of my favorite bands.

The New Pornographers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBAUQaj6EJo
Ted Leo & The Pharmacists: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHAUiCyabIQ
The Hold Steady: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_SiHmAN6qs
Wolf Parade: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df91aCyNMPo

Disclaimer: Those bands are all actually pretty popular if you're into indie music.

Jonathan Coulton (although he is somewhat popular nowadays)

Captain Ahab

Aquaduct

And, probably one of the best artists I have ever heard, People Eating People

Sadly, they don't have any music on Youtube, but they do have 3 songs on their myspace which are worth checking out.

I know this band, no made sense, personally. My mum used to work in Marks and Spenser with the guy in the middle on their myspace skin, Joe. And I've been paint balling with them. :p

They've got a really good song on there from their album. :)
And they're playing at hellfire festival with saxon, evile, sylosis and anvil, so they're kind of a big deal.

I tried to get tickets to ones of the shows they did with We Smoke Fags but I couldn't get my hands on any. I saw Hadouken! though. They were shit. They didn't seem to have any energy but to be fair they did look really jetlagged and it was at Southampton Uni which has no ventilation. Seriously, it's down a corridor so there's no doors, no windows, no air con. Nothing. I went to see Pendulum there and I almost passed out. Had to go and sit outside for a few minutes which is the only time I've had to do that.
That's a shame, my mates have been to see both DIOY,Y? and Hadouken! and have had a great time both times. And lol at the Pendulum thing :p
