That was never a cover. the lyrics were written by Bob Dylan and thats it. the rest is all Hendrix.

Nope, it's a cover. Dylan wrote it and recorded it first and it is infact on his album John Wesley Harding.

Hendrix got some promotional tapes from Dylan's manager, heard the song, loved it and covered it, having his version released about 6 months later Dylan's version had come out.

Look it up, it is a cover song.

A Perfect Circle did great covers of Joni Mitchel and Black Flag
But my fav has to be Me First and the Gimme Gimme's Phantom of the opera, they kick ass

On a lighter note, Marilyn Manson's cover of Sweet Dreams is a pretty good song.
