This. Mercenaries 2' soundtrack is probably the single best part of this game.

I have to say Machinarium though. It's just so atmospheric.

Halo theme, is beautiful, epic and kickass. It delivers on all major fronts.

I haven't read the entire thread, and I'm willing to guess that my suggestions have already been mentioned but.. Here I go.

The Zelda games has some AMAZING music. I also happen to own a few Final Fantasy soundtracks, geeky as I am.

Oh, honorable mention for the first Command & Conquer game! Act On Instinct, hell yeah!

GTA: Vice City. I loved everything about the soundtrack in that game, including the talk channels. I don't think any GTA before or after has had a soundtrack that so perfectly captured and synced with the action in the game. A friend of mine somehow managed to get a copy of every single bit of radio in Vice City and put it onto an ipod but the jerk never shared it with me.

A friend of mine somehow managed to get a copy of every single bit of radio in Vice City and put it onto an ipod but the jerk never shared it with me.

You can extract the files from the disk of the PC version of the game, but they're in an odd format so you'll have to convert them to your prefurred one and theres a tool for that kicking around on a few of the GTA fan sites if memory serves.
