Pretty much the entire Final Fantasy and kingdom Hearts series. Plus, I also absolutely love the remixes from OCRemix.org of various FF and KH songs. Here's one of my favourites, so good I made a video from it. It's called The Crossraods and it's a remix of Cid's Theme from FF VII:

Anyway, as I say, I just love FF and KH music. However, more recently, Portal and Mirror's Edge both hold a special place in my heart simply due to Still Alive (I actually prefer the Mirror's Edge song, but they're both still awesome :D).

Silent Hill, Jak X Combat Racing and Wet.

Silent Hill's scores and sounds are haunting, creepy and beautiful to listen to. Jak X and Wet's are simply epic and make you feel like such a badass playing.

The Half life 2 series has nice backround music that gives scenes in the game extra depth. Is it the best music in a game? Probably not but I like it.

Title says it all, what game do you love on a musical basis?
I've got quite a few: Megaman(X and up) and Legend Of Zelda would have to be mine.
FACT: Megaman X has one of the best first stage themes of all time.

I don't like much metal type stuff, but I thought the original Doom had some sweet tunes. Really set the scene.
They're mostly all covers of actual metal songs. Which is awesome.

For me, I'd say either FFIX of FFX. Both scores are near perfect.
