For Metallica: Anesthesia(pulling Teeth), One, The Day That Never Comes, Welcome Home (sanitarium)
For Iron Maiden: Dance of Death, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, The Legacy, Hallowed be Thy Name.
For Lynard Skynard: Free Bird.
For Guns and Roses: November Rain.
For Hendrix: Pretty Much Everything. Particularly live.
Avenged Sevenfold: Afterlife, Bat Country, M.I.A.
For Van Halen: Eruption (obligatory)
For Pink Floyd: Comfortably Numb

Another thread where I can post Rime of the Ancient Mariner. I seem to be able to fit it into a bunch.
So many good ones.

Not like these are the best, but really got stuck in my head:

Meshuggah - Entrapment
It's as if alien from another dimension came to our world, with totaly different understanding about music, and wrote this solo. Phenomenal.

Eluveitie - Inis Mona
Ok, this is flute solo but it's still amazing

Necrophagist - Ignominious & Pale
Necrophagist. Muhammad's solo. Not much else to say.

Any of Tony Iommi's solos from Paranoid, he understands that soloing isn't just about fretwanking for 10 minutes its about doing something that adds to the music.

Either that or the live solo I saw Ruyter Suys do which ended in her shredding all the strings off her guitar.

the first solo in Boston's longtime

I like you sir

Although the guitar solo in Metropolis by Dream theater is brilliant, as is Under a Glass Moon...

The solo in Freebird is the one of the most boring recreations of the pentatonic scale ever (except for every AC/DC solo)

This week? I'll go with Silversun Pickups' "Lazy Eye."

All-time is easily "Cliffs of Dover."

Did anyone know that song BEFORE it showed up in that music game that jumped the shark?

Muse - Citizen Erased

When the solo changes and the bass goes back into the chorus, the synths return... makes my hair stand up on end.
