Well although its a fake weapon its still awesome and I wish it was ever in service

another one that is real that isn't in service anymore is the Tsar Tank

but for me my favourite one is the German U-boats they basically gave Hitler the upper hand in WW2 (but the Japs hit Pearl Harbour and he attacked Russia)

there are heaps of others which i think are awesome but that would take too much time ^.^

The German MP44. I'm not hugely knowledgeable about weapons, but my readings on WW2 tell me that was quite the sub-machine gun. Plus it's awesome in CoD!
it isnt a submachine gun. the SGT44 was the first assault rifle. if it had been made a few years earlier, then Germany could´ve won the war.

Bren guns, just because they look so badass.
which is a copy of the type 100, or is it the other way around?
other way around. but the Bren gun was itself a copy :p
And I think you mean Type 99. Type 100 was the Sten Gun copy :p
so confusing. I like the Sten Gun though.

the M14. it was the replacement to the m1, since it had a larger magazine, looked cooler and had a higher fire rate.

oh, sorry. i thought it was the Sten he meant. the british guns with weird almost-human names are so confusing...

Isn't that still used by the... Marines or whatever who guard the whitehouse? or some other place.
I remember massacring them on Hitman blood Money.

The M14 is still in service with the US Military as far as I'm aware, it's just not their standard issue rifle any more.

Anyway, mine definitely has to be the Colt Single Action Army. It's just probably my favourite gun ever.

*snip*
the MP44 was the Allies´ name for it, since they hadnt ever heard of an Assault Rifle before. The Führer himself named it the SGT44. the only problem the germans had in the war, besides their thin supply lines at The Russian Front, was that their weapons were TOO GOOD.

you might be asking yourself, "how can a weapon be too good?". the answer is that they took to long to create. the germans made GENIUS weapons, like the Gewehr 43, the MP40, the very first Jet Plane and, of course, the SGT44.

also, Hitler didnt want Jet Planes, he wanted bombers, which was stupid, because the jet planes were far superior to any other plane.

im happy that are interested tho :D

it may still be in use, but it was replaced as the standard issue rifle, anymore. it was replaced with the m16 in 1970.

Well to be fair, I said I'm not too knowledgeable about these things. The MP44 was a real gun though, yes? And I think I could get into quite a fun conversation about Germany winning the war if that's something you'd care to chat about. But another time, I must sleep. I do look forward to your reply though!
Well the STG44 was originally called the mp43/mp44 so hitler would aprove it because he didn't want a rifle that fired an intermediate round. When Hitler found out that they had gone ahead and made it when he had already told them not to, he was annoyed but impressed with the weapons effectiveness and had the name change to STG44.

The Italians made the first assault rifle before the Germans did though even if it was an accident while trying to make a new submachinegun.

For the topic itself my favourite weapon no longer in service would have to be the longbow.

Apparently the MP44 was the first gun ever made entirely out of metal, although it was said to be far less effective than the Thompson counterpart because it fired small rounds that went incredibly fast which meant they punched right though a soldier but left a hole that was probably smaller than a pencil. The heavier slower rounds of the thompson expended all of their energy directly into the target causing crater sized wounds.

The M1918 BAR Browning Automatic Rifle.

I seriously wonder what the design brief was like when they designed essentially a light machinegun with a 20-round clip. It's still badass though.
