Pink Floyd's The Wall. Technically it's not fully animated, but man Gerald Scarfe's sequences were amazing.

The only one I can think of NOT by Disney is Heavy Metal from back in 1981, although it's more a collection of short stories with heavy metal in the background helping to tell the tale and set the passing.

Anyone watch South Park's "Major Boobage"? The tripping animation and music is from that film.

Pretty much anything made by Studio Ghibli. I loved Spirited away. Princess Mononoke as well as Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind are some of my favourites as well.

Explain, what's so cookie cutter about them? I can't recall anything like WALL-E, just to name one.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. It beats the hell out of the two Schumacher films.

Titan A.E. The animation is beautiful and the plot is good, although it seems dumbed down on purpose at times which makes me sad.
Wasnt that good of a movie but damn did it look good.

Probably spirited away for me that film is brilliant.

There's to many non-Disney animation to choose from.

My favourites would probably be:
My Neighbor Totoro
Princess Mononoko
Spirited Away
Howl's Moving Castle
The Secret of Nimh
The Land Before Time
The Incredibles
The Iron Gaint
Gay Purr-ee
Fire and Ice
Wallace and Gromit

You mean you already said American Tail before I did.

Meh, I don't see this as a contest to mention it first, I said it really is my favourite non Disney animated film.

Oh wait, no, no....

Dang, this is hard.

Well, hmm....Avatar: The Last Airbender Season Finale.

THAT COUNTS. It was as long as a movie.

Now, throughout our lives we've all seen that one movie that touched us in a special place.
"Now Billy, show us on the doll where the movie touched you."

I loved The Iron Giant. I really need to watch that movie again. I would also say a lot of Pixar films, but I think most of those are Disney.

If it was an movie that included animation, chances are that it probably a Disney movie.

But making a thread about Disney movies would be too obvious and cliched, so i think i'll take another approach to this topic.

What i want from everyone that participates in this thread, is one of their favorite animated movies. But it CANNOT be a Disney movie. Let it be from some other major animation company, or maybe even anime. Just nothing from the Disney company. That shouldn't be too hard right?
Princess Mononoke, a movie that DOESNT talk down to children

...The Iron Giant...
I used to love that movie but Cartoon Network had the STUPID idea of playing that movie on a 48-hour loop every August FOR FOURTY-EIGHT HOURS NOTHING BUT IRON GIANT AND COMMERCIALS! I got sick of that movie very quickly as a kid, I think they stopped doing it now though.
Hehe, I remember Iron Giant ;)

Good times, gooood times...

The Simpsons or Kung-Fu Panda. Also, I think that Shrek was from Dreakworks too, right?
