You can't really go wrong with the Final Fantasy franchise:

I think the Final Fantasy IX intro sums my point up nicely, but any of the games have fairly solid soundtracks.

Medal of Honor always had great music, at least prior to the 2010 reboot:

The series is one of the few that I actually tried getting a soundtrack for. It always did a great job of reflecting the mood of each scene, but it also was enjoyable to listen to on its own. The early Call of Duty games, particularly the first one, also had similarly great music.

My tops would be Xenoblade Chronicles

Shadow of the Colossus

I also love this song from Gravity Rush (Even though the rest of the soundtrack isn't all that notable)

It's surprising that no one has mentioned the Darksiders 2 soundtrack.

Jesper Kyd just does amazing work, but I feel like the Darksiders 2 soundtrack is his best work yet. The music for your fight with the Crowfather still gives me goosebumps.

The Red Wings theme from Final Fantasy 4 is something I will often put on just to enjoy it.

Guild Wars 2. Jeremy Soule is a god of gaming composers. Wonder if he'll ever do a film soundtrack...
I haven't played 2, but I loved (and still love) the music from the first Guild Wars.

Agreed about Jeremy Soule. If I were King of the World I'd conscript him as my personal bard.

Allied Assault had more great soundtracks:

Oblivion and Skyrim have fantastic Orchestral soundtracks.

Jeremy Soule just has that magic touch with epic Orchestral soundtracks.
With the exceptions of Far Horizons and the obvious Dragonborn (which is just an Choir version of Nerevar Rising from Morrowind) I found most of the tracks forgettable in Skyrim.

Oblivion aswell.

Morrowind had the most memorable soundtrack bar none.

Even though it was an artificial orchestra I still prefer the Morrowind soundtrack over Soule's other works. That isn't to say his work hasn't become more impressive as time goes on. Skyrim's theme is just... fucking amazing. There's really no better way to describe it.

Recently I have been really into the Dark Souls/Bloodborne's soundtracks. I was in chorus in high school, so I like singing along with all the "OOOO AAAAAAH" stuff XD

Well that`s easy. Halo (all three of them seeing how it`s the same soundtrack but built upon ever so slightly throughout the trilogy)

And Mass Effect 2. Let`s face it the only remarkable pieces of music in that game were the big orchestral blow outs such as the suicide run theme and the entire soundtrack to the Shadow Broker DLC.

Honestly I have never been able to remember one piece of music from that entire franchise outside of the main theme of the title screen in the first game.

Wow, I've never realized, but I have a few, I just have to recollect my memories on them.
I've even had to search them up to remember, didn't remember Guild Wars 2 like that. Anyway, onto my main favourite.
I've never been too big a fan of these kinds of games, but boy...

After Bloodborne, I can certainly see why people love the boss fights from the Souls Series and such, even if they kick your ass multiple times over.
After all, in the end you learn, grow more powerful, and beat said boss. Then YOU kick its face in. I probably would say I have a preference for BB though, because of the faster combat.

Plus the music add a giant amount of immersion, and it makes you determined. :D
