Having had a snake and currently having a lizard, I'm more for reptiles than mammals as pets but that gave me an idea. What are the Escapists' favorite non dog or cat pets?

I have a rabbit.

My rabbit is awesome. Sadly, I'm allergic to both cats and dogs, so a rabbit was the alternative. I can't say I'm upset as, like I previously, my rabbit is awesome.

I'd get myself this rare pet, not many own one. Atleast I wouldn't be sad if it died.

I've always been a bird person, love the tweety little buggers. Got 3 Lovebirds who can get pretty damn noisy at certain parts of the day. A green pair who are both boys and a Lutino (yellow) who's a female, kept in separate cages of course.

Before I had them, I've had several canaries in the past, a whole family of them actually. Raised a family of canaries when I was younger, from birth all the way until the last one passed on. The the 3 kids (had 5 canaries, 2 are obliviously the parents) were as much my kids as the parents. Raising them from birth, watching them learn to fly and grow are experience I'll never forget. They all lived long and happy lives I feel, still miss the little girl, she was my favorite and most special one of the group.

Definitely wanna raise another family of birds some day, just one of those wonderful experiences to have.

Our Snake, Angel.

He's the oldest pet we have in the house and the only one no one else will pick up.

If you mean among the unusual pets that I have cared for before, its a tossup between ferrets and squirrels. Both are seriously underrated critters.

If the category is a bit wider than that, there are significantly more creatures I would enjoy having around than not. But for a regular pet/companion, foxes spring to mind more quickly than most.

One of my fish. Probably the bolivian ram. He's a pretty fish and has a cheeky nature. My puffer was the tank star, but he died a few weeks back. My mollies spawned a while back as well. Out of the thirty or so fry, all of which are marble coloured, one was born entirely black. I always thought black mollies were a seperate species to dalmations, so it'll be interesting to see what he grows up to be.

Skunks make great pets! If you add adopt them from an early age and de-pouf them, they become quite attached to their owners. They are incredibly smart, and affectionate.

Well, the only other pet in the house is my betta Rudy.

My sibling was given a puppy named Max a few months back that I took care of, but it either ran away or was taken by someone outside our house (most likely the latter).

So now all I have left to take care of is Rudy. They (not sure of gender) are very docile and really aren't much of a bother to have. After I clean its bowl, you can see it gleefully dance around it's bowl for a few days before I need to clean its bowl again.

I'd have to go with my rats. Reptiles are cool, but I love the furry little buggers and they're so friendly. Not to mention they're great gaming bros til they nibbled at your fingers in the middle of a boss fight.

I have rats and ferrets as my non "normal" pets. If I had to choose, I guess the ferrets are my "favorite". They are just so mischievous and uncoordinated - they always get a laugh out of me and anyone nearby.

Tali, my African Grey parrot (that's her on my avatar). Quite loud when she want's to be but she's very affectionate, loves a good head scratch in the morning (after she's finished stealing bits of my cereal).

probably my one of my betta splendens (Siamese fighting fish) for my favourite one its a toss up between Sir Knify my first who lords over a colony of shrimp or Frank-n-furter who was a "female" picked out by my girlfriend because it was so brightly coloured. I didn't suspect was male until I found a massive bobble nest in my tank two days later.
