so noone has played 'Heroes 3: might and magic'?

its made by 3DO (a company that has by far gone under.) the story was not the best but the game itself was awsome. especially the multiplayer, which if you got the complete edition included a random map generator.it combines strategy, and awsome gameplay. unfortinutely it is not easy to get (unless you go to ebay)

I could mention some specific games (Psychonauts and Beyond Good and Evil come to mind - and have been mentioned many of times already) but hey, I've got underappreciated games down to a formula now.

Is it really good?
If yes, is it something the casual gamers who outnumber the core gamers 100 to 1 would buy?
If no: Underappreciated Gem!

Marathon, as it's largely forgotten outside of Mac and die-hard fan circles. A bit dusty, but still a fun shooter even on low-grade hardware and the storyline is great. It's got a freeware version now, too, that works on PC as well as Mac... pity so few know about that.

I actually accidentally left a copy on my old Pentium II tower I gave to a friend. Made a fan out of him when he found it :)

Psi-Ops was definitely under-appreciated. I've yet to find a game that makes telekinetics as fun as Psi-Ops did. Hopefully Force Unleashed will be at least as good.

Elite Beat Agents
The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3
Blast Corps. (Someone tell me they remember this game!)
Roller Coaster Tycoon

All incredible games that should bought without haste by anyone with a passing interesting.

ICO -- easily one of the best PS2 games.

A lot of people say good things about Beyond Good & Evil, but I didn't think it was that special. It was ok, but I hated those sneaking bits. But since I know I'm probably the only person on earth who feels that way, I'm ready to admit that I'm wrong and you're right. There's no point to fight the sunrise.

My favorite game of all time:
Legend of Dragoon
I can't believe I saw only one other person list this as an underappreciated game, as it is one of the most underrated games for its time.
Another game I saw which caught my attention that somebody posted was Gladius. I loved that game, even though only one of my friends had it. My only complaint is that once you get into the last sequence of boss battles, you can't go back to the original game. Even after the final boss, you still can't go back and slaughter everyone in the normal tournaments without starting a new game.
Well, those are the 2 games that struck me as my favorite underrated games of all time.

Tales of Symphonia-gamecube (And all the others)
Aiden Chronicles: The First Mage- N64

To about post: Gladius was indeed an epic game, I just felt the combat, however well thought out, got repetitive, and the ending was WEAK. Those two things held it back from being legend.

Skies of Arcadia, a game of the Dreamcast that was never really known but is ultimately my favorite game ever.
I hear Grandia II had a similar history.
FYI, They have made a gamecube port that actually is an improvement to the older original.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption has been scientifically proven to be the greatest game ever made but has had only average sales.
