Not many people seem to have heard of Virgin Black, which are my second favourite Doom Metal band second only to My Dying Bride.

The Red Paintings, an Australian band that is awesome, unlike the other Australian bands.

AC/DC is pretty awesome.

2 bands I saw last week that I liked were Lycanthrope (80s feel with kilts) and Warscythe (Death [and by that I mean the band] inspired music).

Virginia Coalition. Their live album is absolutely incredible. My #1 favorite album of all time (just ahead of The Who - Live at Leeds if anyone wants to know ).

It's sort of girly music, but it's so good.

EDIT: If you don't feel like spending the money, get Green and Grey / Meteor off of their live album. Both great songs.

Holy mother of a magestic moose, I know this band. They supported us when I was with my old band Son of A Gun at esquires some years ago.

Their latest single (Mannequin Loveseat) is either the best satire of the entire emo genre I've ever heard, or is dead serious; so it's hilarious either way
