Yes, you have to either fire all the rounds to reload, or you can pull the bolt back until the bandolier shoots out making that load *Ping* sound. It wasn't really a drawback either, because what a few Americans did was they counted their shots, waiting until they had fired 6 or 7 rounds (the bandolier holds 8) and then they'd toss an empty bandolier on a rock.
