No. Perhaps the last one in a given habitat died, or perhaps in a given area, but not the last panda ever. There's still a few around, though there are projections that they will go extinct in a few generations.

I know. I was just kidding.
Trying to freak some people out. ;D

I actually said that they were extinct because I think we need to do more to protect them, because, well, they just might go extinct.

And I don't want that.

I agree. Specifically because it was a bird noone wanted to save.

They could have tried farming them, but they were like "No, these birds suck - kill their eggs"

If they had been either prettier or tastier, we might still have them alive today, but they were ugly, and probably didn't taste very good, so they're dead.

So, rather than restricting that to its own thread, you decided to break off what was an interesting collection of images of extinct animals by inciting panda-monium with your outrageous claim?

Good day, sir.

Pandas want to go extinct. I think it's time we pulled the cord on them.

Good day, sir.

Well, considering a quarter of these posts are "A good Sonic game" or "A fire-breathing Godzilla Mario", It really wasn't that big a deal.

So yes. A good day indeed.

Pandas aren't extinct. /rulefail
not yet they aren't but greedy basterdsorus-rex'es(aka Modern Poachers) keep killing the ones that are in the wild and the Chinese government may cease thier efforts to keep them from going extinct

My stomach dropped for a second there. Then I remembered that I had seen an ad for the WWF asking for money. It was the first time I was happy with an advertisement.

I'm not saying I want pandas to go extinct, but I think the pandas that are left are completely incapable of surviving without human assistance.. They can't effectively breed in captivity and they're ill equipped to live in the wild (if there are any panda "wilds" left for them to live in). The chinese did a valiant thing by trying to preserve them, but some creatures are unpreservable.

In my opinion, a creature is extinct once it's infeasible for them to continue on their own. If every single specimen of an animal is in captivity, then it's basically extinct, especially if they're unable to properly breed without a lot of human intervention. You can't bring Pandas back into the wild. They're basically dead. They're being kept alive on life support.

I think we should graciously let the pandas die out, and let them serve as a symbol and a lesson.

No, Pandas aren't extinct, but the aren't exactly "numerous" either.

Hur hur. Touché.

I will get back to you when I've watched this episode of walking with Dinosaurs, though it's probably still the dodo. Why? Because he's called a motherfucking "dodo". How more awesome can you get?

I am aware their numbers are dwindling, which is why I momentarily believed it. I have love for Pandas.
