True, I didn't actually taste the alcohol when I drank salmiakkikossu(a), but I didn't like the taste so much. I prefer mixed drinks.Spitfire175 said:Ah, teh grand finnish speciality, "salmari" aka. "salmiakkikossu". Salmiac liquor, about 38% alcolhol. Great stuff. The ammonium in th salmiac fades the taste of alcohol so you can drink a lot of it quickly.sanomaton said:Have you ever tried Salmiac liquor? I almost puked when I tried to drink one shot of that... I can't tell why people drink stuff like Karhu or Lapin Kulta, either. That stuff tastes like piss. Maybe I should try those foreign drinks sometime.
Well, my favourite thing must be salmiac. Even though I can't stand Salmiac booze, salmiac itself is just so good... And then some bands like Iceman and Clazziquai I like a lot.
To anyone ever visiting Finland: if you can't down a double "salmari", don't go drinking here.

It's fairly well known. I had a few of those books, I just never got around to reading them.leouck said:I just really like the Redwall book series. I think no one has heard of it...

Huh, wasn't aware other states had em. We literally have one on like every corner. Perhaps it's why we have soooo many fat people (of which I am not included).Famrit said:What? We have four or five Whataburgers in my state New Mexico! And yes indeed Whataburger rocks.Shamgarr said:Whataburger is a fast food chain down here in Texas, and it's simply amazing. Then I realized it's only in Texas and I knew the rest of the planet was being screwed.

I have seen a few episodes of that, if only because it has Michael Imperioli, who was great in The Sopranos, which is my favourite show in the history of television.skywalkerlion said:Mine's the ABC version of the original BBC show called Life on Mars. Its about a cop from 2008 who gets hit by a car and get's sent back to 1973.
Yay! I love that show. But people do know it.roethle said:Red Dwarf old BBC comedy set in space, love it.
I have HEARD of the Redwall series; I just never got around to reading it. The book "Hippo Eats Dwarf" is a great book(non-fiction) about elaborate hoaxes, and I think my brother and I are the only people in this whole city who have read it(I won't be as arrogant as to say that we are the only people in the state that have read it). Also the "fast food" restaurant Burgerville, which really doesn't deserve the name fast food because it takes forever and the food is relatively expensive. It is totally worth the price and wait, though.leouck said:I just really like the Redwall book series. I think no one has heard of it...

He is quite well respected in literary circles for his complex novels. Lots of talk on forums like sffworld.com, and sffchronicles.co.uk.GethinPetrelli said:I love pretty much every book by Gene Wolfe but I've only ever met one person who's even heard of him.
